tell me, how did you know you were ready? how long did you take to cut for the show? did you go natural or stay on? how was your first show? were you holding a lot of water? was it the single most devestating life style change? talky talky please.

I'm interested in this, too. What type of cycles were you doing? And how long were you training before you entered your first show?

Bro, that is way to many questions for you to get good responses but I will try to satisfy you. 1) you will never "know your ready"...you will NEVER be that confident. If you are, you won't be after you see your competition, humbles you quickly. 2)The cut time always depends on the amount of Body fat you are carrying. I usually pack on the pounds for the winter. This means I pay a price to diet down for the contest. It usually takes me around 16weeks. 3) I have competed in untested shows for 5 years now and have used gear in 2 out of the 9 shows I have been in. 4) First show was excellent but I dieted and dehydrated myself to death for the win. Ripped to the bone but learned alot. 5) holding water is the hardest thing to figure out. No matter what someone tells you, you will have to learn what works for you. Done the diuretics, sweat boxes, water restriction, sodium loading and restriction. There is no magic formula for everyone. 6) Dieting for a contest is very hard. It will kill your social life, end your relationships with friends/lovers and mentally wipe you out if you let it. Its hard and thats why most in the gym only talk of how they could do it but never get around to it. It seperates the men from the boys. |
