Gents, I was shooting up some Norma deca today, out of the 2ml vials. Usually I draw up with one pin, then put a new pin on and do the shot, you wouldnt believe how sore it is with a semi blunted pin, I would not do that again. Do you guys swap pins ?? I only do it with vials, because of the fact the pin is going through the rubber stopper. Let me know your thoughts.     | ||

I do when I'm going through rubber stoppers but not glass...it is a bitch injecting with a dull ass needle!! | ||

Most certainly! After you punch that pin through a rubber stopper, it will no doubt be dull. Dull pins really hurt like hell, so I'd switch em!! | ||

IVE SWITCH ALSO, BUT ONCE I HIT A NERVE OR SOMETHING WHEN I WAS STICKIN THE NEEDLE IN, SO I PULLED OUT, AND STUCK IT RIGHT BACK IN WITH THE SAME NEEDLE. NO PROBLEMS... | ||

I use an 18g needle to draw up all my fluids. Then swap to a 23 or 25g. 18g needles are really cheap, and saves alot of time. | ||

I also change pins after I daw from an amp. The pin gets dull when it hits the bottom of the amp trying to get the last bit of juice out. D. | ||

Yep,always use two pins when loading from a vial,felt the same pain as yourself courtesy of a dull pin.Amps aok with one pin up 'til now. | ||

i use the same to draw and shoot with. I've never had any problems. Only time i've noticed it being dull is if i stick it in my vial and for some reason have to pull it out of the vial and stick it in a 2nd time.. then its dull when i poke myself w/ it. | ||

I too never had any problems. When I�m drawing from vials �which require the pin to go through rubber-then I swap. But if I�m using vials I don�t. With the latter I�m always making sure that I don�t touch the edges of the glass or prick the base of the vial with the pin. | ||

Yep, they do blunt pretty easy don't they. Had to do it a couple of times when short of pins ..........ouch. | ||

I always change regardless of amp or vial... This is due to the fact I suck up with a bigger gauge pin (21) and usually stick with a 23. | ||

I've always use the same. In fact, I take some sand paper and sand down the sharp edge to make it more blut, this way I can really feel it going in. And for them days when I need some extra motivation I'll use my 18 guage pins, it does wake you up.... ------------------ Lobo | ||

I change no matter what. Like the other bros said, it gets dull hitting the bottom of an amp or going through the rubber stopper. Needles are cheap anyway. ------------------ | ||

Fuck I can't believe all the dumb answers here. A RUBBER STOPPER DOES NOT DULL THE PIN WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!!! I fricken do daily injections and have NEVER had a dull pin. What doctors or hospital have you EVER SEEN that changes the pin after drawing up the drug. It don't hurt anything but is just dumb and unnecessary............ | ||

Even if it didn't dull it(which it does). I still wouldn't want something that just pushed thru rubber go into my ass. Needles aren't made out of gold so what's a good reason not to use a new one??? | ||

Mark M, Needles are sterile when you take the cap off, as soon as it touches ANYTHING it is no longer sterile and yes it does dull it. I'm sure 99% of the bros on this board will agree! | ||

I did an internship in an in-patient pharmacy during my college years, and I can assure you that hospitals do change pins after they are exposed to ANYTHING other than the injection site. You keep on jabbing yourself with a dull, unsteril pin like a total stooge. Who cares. | ||

I would definetly change the pin if you've been using the Norma Deca due to it's tin foil top.... you see it will definetly blunt the needle and will literally be a 'pain in the ass' to inject. I use more than one vial however, although I always use a fresh injecting pin and syringe, I use the same drawing pin. ------------------ | ||

With Norma Hellas, I just pry the cap off the vial and pore it in the needle and inject. There is no need to even draw through the rubber stopper. | ||

Excellent answers guys, thanks, I agree once the pin touches anything other than the juice, I.E the rubber stopper on a vial, it surely is no longer sterile, I do use the same pins when withdrawing out of amps. with the 2ml vials, I always draw back the barrel to the 2ml mark, then put it through the ruber stopper, turn the vial upside down, and shoot the air into it, the syringe will just about fill itself once you have done this. Maybe this was just a blunt pin, but I still think the rubber stop dulled it a little, if you got plenty pins, then fuck it, just change it anyway. Cheers guys. ------------------ | ||

OK, let me put it this way. Any medical professional (and I include Nurses / Midwifes etc in this catagory) that does'nt is:- a/ Unprofessional It is in every respected clinical procedures manual(Royal Marsden, Mayes, etc) that you DO change the needle, one for drawing 1 for shooting. I defy anyone to tell me otherwise. That is not to say a (very) few health professionals use different needles all the time. I am just saying that most do and all should do. End of.

I always swap even with amps... Like someone said..your hitting the bottom of the amp trying to suck out all the juice...I'm sure that dulls it more than a rubber stopper | ||

i never even thought about the dullness factor, i switch pins because it is so much easier and faster to load with a larger gauge and then shoot with a smaller one. i usually use a large gauge for two to three load ups before discarding it. ------------------ | ||

I've never in my life seen so many people talk about shit in which they have no idea what they are talking about. Doctors (in hospitals) do not administer injections unless the injection is in an area that is difficult to target and requires a bit more expertise, such as the pupil of the eye. So whoever said this...guess again. And, yes, the nurses DO change the pins. | ||

Well I don't feel a thing when I inject with a 25g 1.5in needle after swapping a 25g 1.5in needle to draw up with, than again I put my oil in boiling water to lower the viscocity ------------------ | ||

Yeah I knew I'd catch some flack from some for my post but who ever said hospitals change the pin after drawing up the drug is wrong, Yes it is the nurse's who give the injections but I have on occasion been injected by the doctor..........I've been in and out of hospitals getting injections my whole life and am 45 years old now and have never ever had a them change the pin after drawing up the drug. I also had shot's twice a week for hay fever that went on for two years and they never changed a pin. They simply swab the stopper first with alcohol to keep it clean. Also watch them in line giving flu shots. They swab the stoper, draw the shit up and inject it. I have never ever in all my life seen ANYONE in the medical profession change a pin after drawing up the drug!!! They simply DON'T. I will admit there could be some very very slight dulling but don't believe it's going to be enough to make a difference. That rubber is damn soft compared to the razor sharp needle.......... it does get dull after it penetrates, may it be flesh or rubber. does your razor blade get dull after each use? just because you cant see it, doesnt mean you cant feel it. ------------------ | ||
