How much and for how long should I take
ARIMIDEX to fight my gyno - 1mg (=1 Tab) a
day? If ARIMIDEX will reduce the gyno to a
certain point, will it stay like this after
I stop taking ARIMIDEX?

lawnsaver your completly wrong on arimidex only being needed eod, obviously you've not read any of the prescribing information/medical pamphlets/studies on arimidex.

1mg ed is the OPTIMUM DOSE!

The prescribed dosage for women with breast cancer is 1 tab every day. You will actually have to experiment on yourself to find out what the optimum dosage is for yourself. Start out taking 1/4 tab eod and if that's not enough gradually increase the dosages!

Final thought...there is a theory that estrogen helps to build muscle, although alot of people believe this, I don't, but hey, I'm usually wrong according to aky.

I know nothing is supposed to help gyno after it has developed, but Winstrol did reduce my gyno over three months. I used nolvadex at the same time.

As I stated above each of us need to find the best dose and the effects can vary with each person.

here is an exerpt from an arimidex pamphlet

"Many breast cancers have estrogen receptors and growth of these tumors
can be stimulated by estrogen. In post-menopausal women, the principal
source of circulating estrogen (primarily estradiol) is conversion of
adrenally-generated androstenedione to estrone by aromatase in periph-
eral tissues, such as adipose tissue, with further conversion of estrone
to estradiol. Many breast cancers also contain aromatase; the importance
of tumor-generated estrogens is uncertain.
Treatment of breast cancer has included efforts to decrease estrogen
levels, by ovariectomy premenopausally and by use of anti-estrogens and
progestational agents both pre- and post-menopausally; and these inter-
ventions lead to decreased tumor mass or delayed progression of tumor
growth in some women.
Anastrozole is a potent and selective non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. It
significantly lowers serum estradiol concentrations and has no detectable
effect on formation of adrenal corticosteriods or aldosterone."

You see arimidex inhibits the 5aromatase enzyme which causes the aromatization of testosterone/androstenedione and other chemicals into estrogens/estrodiols. It does not inhibit your natural production of estrogen from androstenedione/testosterone via genetic controls. Now of course these ratios are different in everyone, but an 80% drop in estrogen levels is by no means a harmfull thing to a man. You're right though the doseage will be slightly different for everyone, persoanlly i like the way 1mg ed works on me. It hardens me up, i've found it easier to drop adipose tissue, i still get a little water retention but no bloating, my contractions are incredible and i feel as though i'm making larger gains then i should be off what i'm taking.

One last question - "IF" it will reduce gyno to a certain point (maybe just reducing the swelling) will it stay this way after I quit to take arimidex?
