I've read and heard several times now (sorry, can't remember exact source) that high protein diets can leach calcium from bones, so such diets should have high levels of the mineral, anything above 1200mg/day. Now for steroid users, the recommendation from your nurses book probably pertains because they consume much higher levels of protein than the average joe. Just my guess.

Are you sure that this was concerning androgenic steroids and not corticosteroids? I can see this recommendation for the latter, since it is very catabolic to various tissues, while androgens are known to increase retention of several electrolytes, one of which is Ca++. Nonetheless, it is a wise choice to always maintain a high Ca++ intake, since it is important besides the bone issue.

I've heard that AAS can cause calcium leakage from the bones. Taking extra calcium and some Ipriflavone would be a good idea.

Cockdezl, you're right!I went back to the manual and they're talking about corticosteroids. But eather way we all need to get more calcium, especially when getting older, cause it's very important in muscle contraction, nerve system and if we don't provide enough body start "borowing" from bones, that's how many people get injuries.
Got milk?
BTW,what you name means?

you should always be taking vitamin supplements anyways on gear or not. The increased workload of training, etc demands it. Especially zinc.
