It's something like this one:

I do not think that they are that accurate. The good thing is that you would be able to measure changes from day to day, which since using the same measuring devise would be good. But when it comes time to really see what your BF is I would go get a skin fold or dunked.

I have one of those scales. Don't waste your money. The thing gives different readings everytime you climb on it. It will give you two seperate percentages 5 mins apart.

I've been thinking about buying one of these.

This thing looks easy and accurate.

Sorry NW. I was not replying to your post. Your post was not even on there was when I posted "don't waste your money". Guess I ought to refresh more often.

There may just be something wrong with mine.

Tape measure your belly in the mourning. Weights.net has an O.K calculator to use this number that is as good as those scales.

the fat track works good (digital skin calipers) I got mine at dpsnutrition. It's a hell of a lot easier than writing down all the numbers. It takes all 3 measurements and computes them for you and stores it so you can compare then next time you take a test.. I like it.

i would stick with the calipers. The most accurate way to go is under water but that is unlikely to be done unless your a pro and want to got hrought he trouble and cost..i always use the calipers chest, back, abdominal area, thigh, tricep, and calve.. there is a way to calculate the totals and figure out your bf % using these six places i have them somewhere if i find them ill post it..im not sure where i stored them when we moved to our new home..

Hey Motownmuscle:

Does the fattrack only use the 3-site measurement method or can you use other methods?

Thanks

sorry aky that i'm replying to your post. i have a tester. it gives you a little too low BF%, but you can actually measure your bodyfat with it, IF you do the measurement just after waking up and after morning pee

so like i said, it's not accurate, but if you write down the bf% every morning, you'll have some kind of a chart.

write down your weight, measurement time, date and the bf% result. when dieting, the results should drop 0.1% a day.

then again, mirror is more reliable.

No hard feelings about that "meat" post?

TRY THIS, ITS PRETTY EASY, AND FAIRLY ACCURATE.

Step One: Multiply your weight times 1.082.

Step Two: Add 94.42 to this number.

Step Three: Multiply your waste ( in inches ) times 4.15.

Step Four: Subtract the result of step 3 from the result of step 2, this is your fat free body weight.

Step Five: Subtract your fat free body weight from your total body weight.

Step Six: Multiply the result of step five times 100.

Step Seven: Divide the result of step six by your total body weight. This is your bodyfat percent
