Hey people, I really sprained my foot :| (Has the cast to prove it). I need alternative routines to doing cardio for losing bf, w/o running.

Any suggestions?

Well I assume that you can't swim because of the cast(maybe your can if it is fiberglass). The stationary bike and stair master seems like your only option.

Can you erg (ie, use the rowing machine)?

also, in my gym, there is a machine with two handles that you rotate - sort of like bike pedals, but you hold them in you hands. There is a guy with one leg who uses that all the time. If you don't have this machine in your gym , you can get a similar effect by turning your bike over, set it to the highest gear and turn the pedals with your hands.

There are machines in most gyms called precor machines. You cycle your legs in a runnung motion but your feet never leave the machine so there is no impact to hurt your ankle. The motion should help your ankle loosen up as well. If all else fails my favorite alternative is sex, sex, and more sex.

If losing bf is your main concern here is what you can do...
Circuit training
Pick 10-12 Exercises that work the entire body in total. ie
Extensions
Leg curls
Inner/outer thigh
Rows or PUlldowns
Chest press, bench, fly
Shoulder press, lat raise, fr raise
Bicep curl, dbl, or barbl
Tricep dip machine or skull crusher
Ab crunches, leg lifts
Back extension
DO these exercises (in the order stated above), moving from one to the other within 15-30 seconds in between. Go through the each exercise 2 times first week(4 times/wk), then 3 times second week, then up to four times for each exercise. First round work light for 20 reps, 2nd time work medium for 16 reps, 3rd time light heavy for 12 reps, 4 time heavy for 8-10 reps. You must move quickly though going through this closed circuit without rest.
YOu will recieve both cardiovascular benefits and muscular endurance with some strength gain perhaps.
When your leg is better you can resume doing one or two or three bodyparts a day and add in the cardio slowly working up to 5-6 times a week for an hour.
Of course watch what youre eating!

Uhh these are all good peices of advice, but I would suggest SEX. Have some brutal sex with your girlfriend. Tap her guts good 3-4 times per week. Tell me thats not cardio vascular

Bro, for me cardio sucks, if you want to lose body fat,
I would use ephedrine (eph-25) and clen, 400 mg primo
depot per week. and eat nothing but protein, and increase
the rep in the gym.

Well from what I've heard in the past posts, I have swimming, cycling, rough sex, and supplements.

Lets narrow this:

My gym doesn't have a pool plus it's too cold out here to do so and I'd hafta put a bag on my cast so thats out.

Cycling seems good but my gym doesnt have one nor I.

Rough sex sound REALLY GOOD!!! However I think my gf is sick of me fondeling her. :P

Supplements sounds good too me all of a sudden, the only supplement I take is a multivitamen that just keeps me goin.

Any info on repitable supplements that reduce body fat please post here with info and links I be gratefull.

Also bump this post cardio sux to most people see what else we can get.

this may sound dumb but I've heard of someone who hurt there leg while gettin ready for a show and for cardio they got an old wheelchair from someone and went to the track and did laps around in the wheelchair for cardio. Hey why not give it a shot.
