I'm sure I will get flamed big time for this post or it may get deleted altogether but I think it is necessary. EF is certainly one if not the best board for bodybuilding, anabolics and related topics. The purpose of this board as I understand it is to share info in an attempt to help each other out, locate good info, sources and hopefully weed out the bad stuff. Most of the time I think a good job is done in that regard. Like anything else, if you watch the postings you can get a general idea of who knows what they are talking about, who is simply inexperienced and who is full of shit and possibly posing as someone they really aren't (yes, i'm not naive enough to believe that everyone on this board is legit). To keep things in line and to help with those uncertain situations we have about 17 Moderators who monitor the posts. By and large these guys do a great job. Recently however, I came across a few new sources that I needed some reference on. Knowing that we NEVER post sources (good or bad) I went directly to 4 of these Mods to see if anyone knew anything that would help. This was about 2 weeks ago now and I haven't heard a word nor any acknowledgement from 2 of the 4 mods.......a ratio that I consider to be very poor. Of the other two I have to say they responded right away with good info and 1 mod even gave me an additional verified source (AWESOME). All I want to say is that I think we need to do a better job overall. The two mods that did respond went beyond the request but the other two didn't even acknowledge that my request had been made. A 50% no response ratio isn't good brothers.......I thought we were watching each others backs here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've had similiar experiences, but bro, you have to think these guys are getting bombed daily for sources and source checks. But I do agree, on a source check things should be a little more prompt seeing as we have to kind of move quickly in regards to acquiring our goods. ![]() ![]() ![]()

The mods get bombarded and a couple of the mods above haven't been around for months, and one I know just had back surgery so maybe you went to the wrong spots. A more likely reason and I don't mean this as a flame is the number of posts you have. They may not of known who you were because they haven't seen your name around. That could be a problem to if you didn't let them know who you are. Plus any advice a mod gives you consider a favor. They aren't paid for this which means they sacrifice a great deal of time and some risk to help us. You shouldn't have the attitude that they owe you something. If two of them helped you feel grateful. If you don't approve of the job they're doing go somewhere else and see what it's like. I guarantee you won't find a better more honest group than what we have here. ------------------ [This message has been edited by slabcat (edited December 01, 2000).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's possible those mods still haven't checked their email. I've usually gotten a responsbe back from all the mods I've emailed. Some are really helpful, and give you more info than you even expected. You could also check wih some of the well respected vets on the board, And I don't mean the guys who have 2000 post by telling everyone in every post to do a search, you should know which one's I mean. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My experience has been the opposite. I think you need to be around a while. Let the Mods get to know you a bit so that they can see that you are legit then they will help out. E2, WCP and quenepo all helped me beyond my expectations. Thanks again guys ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have to say the mods might not get back to you as quick as Domino's but like the bros said they get bombed. And I think it is worth the wait for good info. For them to sort out all the b.s. and reply to people who are legit is a hard job, I'm sure. I don't envy those guys. And remember they are a large part of why this board is one of the best. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I too had the same result/ratio -2 out of 4- when I e-mailed the mods. I'm not sure if I hit mods that were not available, away at the time or simply because of my "ranking" within this system. Although it seems that many people tend to weigh and emphasize this hierarchical structure as their bread and butter and use it against members. None the less I can see the reasoning behind this. I can also see that mods are the "soul" and "cleaners" of this board and must be swamped with question, direction-pointing and problem solving every second of the day. I've never had any problems with the mods. As long as you let them know who you are and ask reasonable questions you should have no problem. Also they don't know everyone out there. The mods here have helped me greatly... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks for your responses. Between the board responses and direct email responses to me about half the respondents report a similar situation which actually suprises me. Anyway, just to make a couple of clarifications. First, I realize the MODS probably do get bombarded but if I was courteous enough to follow the board guidelines and not list the sources directly on the board but rather send private emails to them why shouldn't I expect the same courtesy via a response or at least an acknowledgement? I fully realize that no one on this board "owes" me anything but when you receive a direct email from a board member following the guidelines I think that member should be responded to in some manner whether or not you know them well which brings me to my second point 2) I have corresponded directly with both of these MODS in the past about sources and 3) Yes, I realize that I am relatively "new" to the board but again I paid like everyone else and am following the guidelines and finally 4) Both of the MODS in question have been posting all over this board during this past 2 week period. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Back in May I think I emailed E2 about a source, and I got no response, but I moved on. I think one of the mods made a post about what they needed if you wanted a response. Now all along and low and behold E2 has been sleeping with my best freinds pet pit bull....he he ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've never had anything but good experiences with any mod I've ever contacted. The bros made a good point about the number of posts---the higher the number by your name, the more trustwothy you might appear sometimes. But, even when I had a much lower number, I would ask in a very polite & humble manner, remembering first to thank the dudes for everything they've done for guys in here & I always would give them my screen name on the board & maybe the names of a couple other guys on the board who could vouch for me. BTW, GAMuscles I lived in Athens, GA for a few years---hows it going up there bro? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Zeaky no flame here but E2 got back to me. Not lightening quick, but these dudes are probably swamped with emails on a daily basis & I didnt really expect an overnight response. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
