Just got my second umbilical hernia today. Both hernia happened while on AS. The first one was a results of heavy bent rows and deadlifts. The second I aint sure how.

So add a replay if you had or have a hernia and if it was the result of rapid increase of strength. Lets see how many of use are too strong for or own good.

My 27 year old brother got his first about six months ago. It was about two inches below and to the left of his bellybutton. He was not on any gear at the time and has never been. He noticed it a few hours later. I think he said he was doing squats that day.

I had an hernia about five years ago. I'm not sure, but I think it was a result of heavy lifting. Thats what my doctor thought it was.

I had it fixed and it is not fun. Don't expect to lift anytime soon after the surgery.

I used to squat a good amount of weight and powerlift regularly...

Then I got a hernia from sliding a couch that was 50 lbs? max...

I think the thing is not the weight but more just a fluke when any much weight is pushed on just the right spot down there, ya know?

Any MDs here?

They found mine when I was getting out of the military. Doctors said is was so small & I really didn't need surgery but I told them I didn't come into the military with & I ain't leaving with it! So they fixed me up good, I only to took a local to watch those bastards & made sure they didn't hack off my family jewels, heard to many horror stories about the VA!

Just had surgery in the beginning of Oct. Inguinal hernia. Did it over the summer doing bent rows, I was on a cycle at the time.

Needless to say I'm on another cycle now, and I think I will stay away from the bent rows this time bro...

Ok so who wears a belt when lifting? I never do. But could that be a problem. I am asking do belts help prevent hernias?
