I agree totally. How often do you think he speaks in front of a national audience. How would you critics think you would perform in the same situation? Professional BB's are not in the spotlight and do not get to do the amount of live interviews that Fball, Bball, and Basketball players do.How can you expect him to talk like a goddamm politician? The only way Bodybuilding will ever get respect is if the population could ever get their head out of ass and realize that their Football, Baseball, and Olympic heroes rely on Anabolic steroids just as Bodybuilders do.(Although not to the same degree). I have seen folks who call birds on Leno.Whats your point? I appreciate your view but we take so many steps backwards when a person who is the "king" of our sport goes on national television and acts dumb. do we have a better representitives out there? i think so. jealous of what? him being 315 pounds? I have restaurants in two countries, 25 in the states, and can have an actual conversation with folks about business and bodybuilding. I also compete. Do I want to look or be like him? I don't think anyone's disrespecting what Ronnie's done in the sport, but I've heard more eloquence from world's strongest man competitors minutes after taking a stroll with a 300 pound stone on their chest. It just would have been nicer if he were a tad more intelligible. I know he shouldn't have come right out and said he juiced, but Leno didn't directly ask him if he juiced, so why would he bring the subject up by making an obviously ludicrous statement like "I didn't want to compete because I didn't want to take steroids". He should have completely stayed away from that subject. And what was with those marks on his face? It looked like Tyson used his face like a speedbag!!! I wonder if he really did get into a fight, in which case it didn't look like he faired all that well. | ||

I just got done watching the interview as the armed forces network shows leno a day late. That post earlier (coleman duh) made him sound incoherrent. He just has a country accent, as people from the country do. I did notice that "black eye or whatever it was. I could'nt believe he's so damn big. But .33% bf, what was that all about?? He's not stupid so why would he insult the publics intelligence like that??? | ||

I totally agree with you roiddog. Ronnie will be dead very soon, all of the pros today look like shit except a few (IE) Darrem Charles, Shawn Ray ect. BB's Like Arnold, Sergio, and Zane. were flawless perfection. Coleman is not even close to flawless. BTW when is Ronnie due? Looks like its been almost 9� months. And to the idiots that think just because he is big makes him a bad mo fo give me a fucking break. That is why shows are based on physiques and not judged by liver enzymes and blood pressure. Some of the posts by people on this subject absolutely amaze me. Arnold would beat Ronnie huh? Jesus Christ, you have to be kidding me. Arnold couldnt win most local shows of today, even in his prime! He had no legs and looked like a little girl compared to the pros of today. Ummmmm, NABBA already have a men's fitness category, and YES, they jump around in leotards, then do a cat walk, and finish off with a 60 second speech while dressed up in their best 'casual dressy' attire. Don't think they've introduced the liver enzyme tests YET. NABBA also now have a very popular 'Athletic' category for men. These guys are buff with nice, more natural looking muscles and great symmetry. Arnold would have done well in this new class! | ||

And no once again Ronnie should not have won this year and in my personal opinion he will never win again. He is going downhill, was already in his last big O going downhill. Out of the mouths of IFBB judges "Ronnie Coleman will not lose the Olympia UNLESS he competes in his worst condition EVER". This year proved it. He wasn't as tight as last year BUT the judges awarded him ALL FIRST PLACE VOTES. That's hard to accomplish!!! I agree with the "cut him a break" line. Any of us would have been nervous as hell going on national tv & not being used to it. And how many of us (especially when our jobs would be threatened) would go on national TV & confess to using gear? From everything I've ever heard/read about him, he seems like a pretty decent, good-natured guy, so why tear him a new one? | ||

If I'm not mistaken, I think he brought the subject of gear up himself, total bonehead move. Did you hear the people snickering off camera when he said "I didn't want to compete because I didn't want to take steroids"? I like the guy and have heard nothing but good things about him, but damn he really didn't make a good impression on Leno. I really do feel sorry for those guys though. As much as I respect the absolute and total commitment, which I could never even hope to achieve, that these guys put into what they do. They are totally destroying their health. All of you should read the latest Flex for the article with Sarcev, and how he was 30 minutes from death from a synthol injection that went straight into a vein. That was why he didn't compete at this years olympia. Stuff like this is going to get more prevelant as these dudes try to find every cheat possible to get one more cm on their arms. The human body could withstand the gear usage of some of the oldtimers like Haney, Arnold and some of the others. But these guys today are taking upwards of 90 grand a year in juice!!!! Somethings going to give real soon. |
