Bros, I am do for "pain therapy" from my 4 herniated discs i my back, and the doc is going to give me cortisone shots as a major part of it. Will this interfere with me using AS? Thanks fellas. ------------------

I would make sure this is your only option. Consider a second opinion. THere are many alternative ways to manage pain and treat herniations. Cortizone is rough stuff, temporary and more on the catabolic side of the fence I have two herniations in my neck from fighting. I go to a Choropractor/Physical therapy woth eletro stimulation and ultrsound... it has done wonders just another opinoin

I personally refuse to use cortisone or any other injectable cortico steroid since they are catabolic and will fuck your tendons and ligaments up. I know quite a few people that have taken the shots for joint pain related to injury or arthritis and it always fucks you up. I read a study recently but I can't remember where I saw it at. Anyways it used peices of rat muscle and treated them with either a cortico steroid or an anabolic steroid. At first the muscle treated with the cortico steroid saw improved performance but within a week catabolism set in and the muscle started to degrade. In the first week the muscle treated with an anabolic steroid did not perform as well as the muscle treated with a cortico steroid. However, in the weeks that followed the performance of the aas muscle continue to improve while the cs muscle continued to degrade. If you must use the cortisone I would think that the use of aas could only help. I would talk to my doc about alternative treatments. My two cents. giantset ------------------

I would opt out. . .you have to weigh the situation, if your back is that fucked up you need to decide if you need the cortisone to function, ergo: the AS aren't that important. If its something you can train with than I would say no the cortisone and go with mild pain meds and deca for some lube. . .good luck. ------------------ |
