got a humorous email claiming to be "FBI" telling me that I am going to be imprisoned for up to 5 yrs and fined 250,000$ for copying "Pumping Iron" and sending them to my friends. Very funny..I must say that it was ell written but at the bottom is an advertisement for free email at anonymous.to. I also called my sister who knows people in the FBI and she reassured my intitial suspicion that its B.S. if anyone gets an email from [email protected] don't be concerned, just some loser playing games and trying to put the fear into some of us. Of course the FBI thing is bullshit, but it is possible to hear from the studio and artist's guild reps.regarding copyrights and royalties. I owned several night clubs in the past. These weasels would come in and listen to what we were playing on the sound system, and then send us a royalties contract to sign for the performers they represented. They also checked the juke box. They want paid everytime a song is played. It works the same way for video stores. They are probably real pricks about selling copies. | ||
