I have probs I emailed them heres the response:,Thanks for your email. Try clearing the Temporary Internet Files in your
browser and then going to the HushMail homepage and clicking on the "Refresh"
or "Reload" button before you enter your username. This will load a new
HushMail applet into your cache and can sometimes make a difference.
Did you notice any "error" type messages? If so, what did they say?
"Communications
Error", "Applet Cannot Be Found", "Page Cannot Be Displayed", and "Unable
To Connect To Server" messages can indicate that there's a problem with
the actual internet connection---noise in the line, a malfunctioning router
or hub between your ISP and the HushMail servers, a misconfigured modem,
or network congestion. Unfortunately, all of these are beyond our control
as they exist and happen outside of the HushMail system.
The internet is made up entirely of machines (servers, routers, hubs, gateways,
uplinks, etc) and if any one of these machines starts to malfunction or
get overloaded it can greatly affect anything "downstream" from that specific
place. It's the nature of the internet beast. Luckily, these types of things
are usually caught and resolved in a timely manner. Try accessing your account
again later.
Also, please consider the following:
What browser are you using, and what version is it? If you are using an
older browser version, you may experience difficulties as the result of
insufficient Java implementation within the browser and certain features
may not be available. Downloading the most current browser versions can
remedy this, and we highly recommend it. These are available as free downloads
from the following sites:
IE 5.5 http://www.microsoft.com
Netscape 4.76 http://www.netscape.com
If you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, it's important to note
that Microsoft released some versions of IE 5 that have a glitch in the
Java implementation within the browser. They acknowledged this mistake,
documented it, and provided a new Java VM download at the Microsoft site.
It's free--and available here: http://www.microsoft.com/java/vm/dl_vm40.htm
HushMail is a Java application, so make sure that Java is enabled on the
browser you use.
In Netscape:
-Pull down the "Edit" menu
-Next, select "Preferences"
-Select "Advanced"
-Check the box that says, "Enable Java"
In Internet Explorer:
-Pull down the "Tools" menu
-Next, select "Internet Options"
-Select "Advanced"
-Scroll down to the "Microsoft VM" section
-Check the box that says, "JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled"
Please contact me should you need further assistance. I'm glad to help.
Thanks for using HushMail.
