As I was reading Ulter brought up a great point, thus being this. Moderators get email everyday asking for source checks, and Ill be the first to admit that for the half of them, Ive never heard of, and some I have. I think I can speak for most of us when I say this. However and this is the kicker, we cannot, nor will be responsible for a partner whom may become scammer overnight, this happens and will continue to happen, its just the nature of the beast. We cannot control what a person does in his business dealing and all must understand that. We take our brothers very seriously and try to make this board the best you can find on the net and that ultimately should be the goal of all. We do what we can 90% of the time but the other 10% is up to you my brothers to use your head and accept that the game you play is not always full of winners. By the way...that dont mean email a mod about getting a source the day you come on the board...nothing ever works that easilly...or by chance we may not know of any at the moment...hmmph..damn memory loss.....Get It! WCP ------------------ | ||

Amen to that.Some people seem to forget at times the game we're all playing.Sometimes we get burned & lose(usually a little money & trust).No one likes to lose,but take a step back every now & again & remember what we all do is ultimately associated with risk. | ||

Totally agree. You aren't ordering from a department store, and nothing is guaranteed. I hardly think any Mod would purposely refer somebody to a scammer. | ||

As soon as I read Ranger's farewell post, I figured that no one would be willing to give a referral again soon. Maybe that's the way it should be if the brother making the referral ends up taking a hit to his reputation if things go wrong. This is an uncertain business always. A long time ago I was given a referral by an old time vet of impecable reputation. All of you men would know him if you were around in 1997-8. This source had been good for quite some time, but inexplicably turned to the dark side. I was burned, but never did I feel that it was my friend's fault. Never even mentioned it to him. But he took incredible shit for it from others, and just dropped out. Like Ranger, his honor was so important to him that he decided it wasn't worth it anymore. How many brothers can we afford to lose this way? I understand TS's frustration and know him to be a good man, which makes this even more unfortunate. Greenhouse makes an excellent point - who wants to go back to that? It could happen. Anyway, Ranger, you need to reconsider....I don't want to be the oldest fart on this forum....thats your job. | ||
