I've been training at home for 10 years. I'm 39 now and in the best shape of my life. I have many friends my age and my body dosn't look like any of them. The only time I go to a quote real gym is on Sundays to train legs. I had found out that all of the squatting i was doing at home over the years has made my waist thicker then i would like for shows. The gym offers many pcs of equipment for better leg development. So. any of you dudes train at home?

Hey brother, I'm forty myself, and never looked or felt better. I train at home and at the gym, for the reason you listed....legs. The gym offers alot more for sure. Keep up the good work! delts ------------------

I used to train at home, but now I go to the gym. It got to the point where I found it difficult to keep myself motivated in the same surroundings by myself every time I worked out. And the fact that my neighbors that live above me started complaining about the noise of clanging plates and grunting sounds like that of a dying moose (i guess that was me?) didn't help much either.

Im very happy to here some guys still train at home. Im 30 yrs old and my wife and I just had a baby girl. Recently I bought an ass kicking gym. Cost was around $6000.00 It includes: -5 to 100 lb dumbells -squat rack -selectorized lat pull with low pull -seated calf machine -hacksquat/legpress combo -2 incline benches -450lb of olympic plates with every imaginable bar and I just added a freestanding punching bag for cardio. Its the best way to train in my opinion. I put on what ever music I want, train whenever I want. I have made great gains since switching over. As for a spotter there is always someone around for those real heavy days. As for motivation, looking in the mirror is enough for me!!!

thermo you need a couple a bucks for a heater and a radio bro. We could all kick in and get something from Kmart for $50. heh heh Yes I workout at home. I have all the machines (tread, smith, pec dec, etc) I need and all the equipment I would use at any gym. The only exception is a leg press but I will be working on that for Christmas.

Work out at home. That is how I have gained my last several pounds. Trying to get to 300 by Christmas. Going back hardcore with heavy squats and deads. Love my power rack. B True

In my opinion, training at home is the ultimate in self motivation. No matter how you look at it when you are at the gym we are all looking for acceptance from others in a certain way. Lets face it, if your curling the 60lb dumbells for reps and people are looking at you, its a good rush. Training at home, its just you!! At home I can tap into the animal inside. I put on some Guns n Roses or some AC/DC and train as if Im getting ready for a contest. Nothing motivates me more than looking at my own body, its solid, sculpted and 100% natural. I have to stop because I'm giving myself a chubby, later guys!!!!! In the immortal words of Bruce Lee

I still have my membership at the gym!!!But, every once in a while i will take a month to 3 months away from the gym and train like an animal at home. This really fucks everyones head up at the gym. They all wonder if you have stopped training or moved. One day you just appear in the club, take the sweatshirt off and people say WTF. If anyone needs some advice on good equipment to buy for your home gym let me know, I'd be glad to help!!!

Hey punch, I'm looking into a home setup right now. I'm going out tomorrow to some local stores to see what they have here in my area. I'd love to hear some your thoughts how to best setup a home gym.

I do most of my workouts at home. No waiting, good tunes, no attitudes, etc. Hey Ulter... Didn't you post the pics of your setup on the boards? If I remember, your basement looks like a f---ing Worlds Gym! ------------------

I have always kept a home gym, along with a gym membership. This eliminates all excuses. After a long day at work, sometimes its too easy to blow off a 2 hr. trip to the gym, but when you have what you need right downstairs in the basement, you always get your workout. I still hit the gym whenever I have time, and esp. on training days when I need a spotter, and I enjoy the bullshit from the bros I have lifted with there for years. Hey BPBastard, checkout: http://www.ironmaster.com/www_ironmaster_com.html Excellent home equipment at a reasonable price. Add a set of dumbbells, and you are ready to go.

100% home grown muscle. It's the only way to go in my opinion. No waiting on weight or equipment, no stupid fucking people, don't need headphones, got all my post workout powders and food ready all the time, yada yada yada.........The only disadvantage: No hot-ass bitches walking around. That could be good though, you don't want to lose focus when doing those 120lb dumbell incline presses!

I had trained at home for ten years. This past year at 38 years old i competed in 3 shows and kicked some ass. Most people were asking where the hell have you been training. It was like i just appeared in the sport from no where. It felt good being the new guy and knowing i did it all on my own. I live in the country the gym are just too far away. Train at home and grow boys.
