If you don;t have a Tanita scale .. Get one they rule.

Accurate to 1% + or -

So Easy. Just make sure you take reading same time.

I love it. If you haven't seen one. they have 4 metal pads that you stand on with bare feet. And it gives you weight & BF %. I picked on up for 119.00$ Canadian or about 79$ U.S

KOOL AIDE... LET ME BE HONEST... YOU WASTED YOUR MONEY IF YOU WANT AN ACCURATE READING...

IF YOU ARE JUST LOOKING TO MEASURE PROGRESS THEY ARE GOOD... BUT WATER WEIGHT WILL KILL THE ACCURACY, SO WILL FOOT SWEAT, OR LACK THERE OF...

LAST YEAR I WAS 10.2 % AT 225 LBS, THE FUCKIN THING TOLD ME I WAS 17%-25% SOME DAYS... VERY NON CONSISTANT READINGS...

I COULD SEE ABS, I HAD CALIPER TEST DONE BY THE LADY AT MY UNIVERSITY WHO HAS BEEN DOING THEM FOR 17 YEARS...

I DO HOWEVER LIKE THE SCALES TO MEASURE WHETHER LOSSES ARE FAT OR NOT....

I agree with madbomber. My old roommate had one and she was overweight. For her it gave accurate readings, but for me it would say things like 20-25% bf. At the time, I was in the 10% range.

They are made for people who do not workout. Not weight lifters who are carrying more than the "ideal body weight".

In fact, some on this board would be considered clinically obese(if you are 20% heavier than ideal).

My wife found a deal on one of these scales.
Brought it home and said check this out. I read some fine print on the box and it said not for bodybuilder etc. We weight trainers do not have the normal body fats that most guys have. She returned the scale the next day.

That's weird. I could go on mine with Wet feet and get same reading. Mine has always been within 1% from week to week.. Maybe you had it set to Female? I did that to a buddy once.. He stepped on and got 37% Mohahha he was only 24% on Male Setting..

Actually if you read the reviews these are supposed to be more accurate than calipers. The only thing that beat it in a shootout was the Water Tank, But that is a long process..

But maybe it doesn't work for you? Even the local gyms use them. They are considered legal for competition use here.

kdt..

Whatever bud. Mine says that no where. The only warning is that it only handles 300lbs,

What it says in book is Intended for use in Home, Not Professional Use, like hospitals and such. There is a bigger version for that use. Otherwise it is not covered under warranty.. Just like if you buy a microwave oven and use it in a restaraunt. If you tell them that when it breaks. They will not warranty it.

Body Fat is Body Fat bud.. Body Builders have the same BF anyone else does.

The scale will work down to 0%, So I don't know what you read. but whatever.

Oh wait I found it..

I quote

" The TBF-611 is not intended for professional athletes or bodybuilders who may experience physical changes due to dehydration"

So drink your 2 Gallons of water and it works fine.

I don't see why you would take it back due to that reason.

It's not good to be dehydrated anyways..

I have one also, it blows!!!!
It does not take into account the ammount of lean mass a bodybuilder carries. It lies to you and makes you feel like a fat ass!!
The claims on how the thing works are bullshit it basically compares your height and age and sex and comes up with a # based on that. I'm gonna get water tested after my next cycle.

hmmm.. I guess it all depends...
I use the university's Hydrodensitometry
method (dunk tank) It said 16%.
Body Composition using calipers (terrible way) said 19% (??? it was a student though??)
Tanita tbf-622 scale 17%
This was an experiment in our class.
We all roughly got the same results.
Not bad since getting dunked is $40 a pop .
Accurate weight if anything!
