It's been 4 weeks and 2 days since my bankart/rotator cuff surgery. I've already lost 14lbs. This shit sucks. Man, I can't wait until April! ------------------ The Cuban ------------------

Damn Cuba, it seems like we're all getting injured these days (maybe we're just getting old, hehe). I had mine done in August, and it still hurts during certain movements - but nevertheless, you will get better, it just kind of gets you depressed seeing yourself lose mass. Even if you're still bigger than everyone else in the gym, you still feel small when you weigh yourself or look in the mirrors. I took primo for a few weeks just to try to feel better, I had to inject myself with my left arm (pretty pitiful, huh) Good luck bro.

I know exactly how you feel due to my recent a/c separation. I guess we just have to be patient and do cardio. Sucks ass!

Cuban, When you are rehabbing your shoulder invest in your own swiss ball(s) they will help you so much you wont believe it. I have chronic shoulder problems and the only barbell press i can do is reverse grip benches on the smith machine. I do all my chest and shoulder presses on the swiss ball and am LOVING it. I am gaining more size than when I did barbell chest exercises and even regular DB exercises. The reason that I feel this may initerest you is that I was so upset for a while when injuries were piling up that I almost gave up lifting weights all together. I was REALLY discouraged. Email me if you have any questions about swiss ball training. ------------------

Good lord, E2! 50 pounds! That must have been a real test of your motivation, to come back after giving back 50 pounds of mass. You just went way up in my estimation. I wish you a speedy recovery, Cuban. You're a good brother, I hope you'll spend some of your recovery time posting thoughtful responses to the boards. In the meantime, like the other brothers say, just take it slow and easy, don't rush things, and you'll be back in full form in no time. Bjaarki

HEY GUYS... DID ANYONE ONE ELSE EXPERIENCE SURGERY OR A DISLOCATED SHOULDER FROM LIFTING TOO MUCH. I'M PRESSING NOW 180 (NO INCLUDING BAR) AND IT SEEMS ALL MY FRIENDS DISLOCATED THEIR SHOULDERS AT THAT WEIGHT. ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS? ------------------

Sorry to hear that. Hope you keep up your moral Bro! How much longer till you can move some weight with the shoulder? E2 you lost 50lbs! Wow! That had to be tough to come back from. If that's not motivational speaking I don't know what is. |
