well bro's, i got it cut today!!! I went in at 8.15am...(1hr early) and checked it. I was in a gown by 9.30am and waited in the Pre-Op. area til about 12pm. In that time i spoke to my doctor and i asked him if he was going to cut the whole gland of part of it, he responded by saying that he's not going to cut the whole gland because there will be a very noticable indentation!! Ok, that's fine with me.. he told me that he's going to use liposuction and try making it a natural as possible shape... because using lipo. you get minimal scaring... and if that wont work as planned he will then cut out the appropriate amount of the gyno, but will not cut all of it. So i assume that i will find out at the end of the surgery or while i'm in the recovery room the doc will come see me and tell me what was done. I said in my other thread (Surgery Tomorrow) that i will be having local anstesia(sp??) but it was general anstesia and i was knocked out for the entire surgery! When i woke up i was in the recovery room and then transfered to Day Care Surgery where i was give apple juice. Even though i was hungary and my throught was dry.. i almost puked and after that my stomach was turing.... what i have on is a thick dressing covered with lots of tape... putting lots of presure on the sites. i was then able to go home at about 4pm... the entire surgery took about 1hr. There wasnt that much pain because the freezing lasts 8hrs... and i was given tylenol-3's. What bothers me is that i dont know what was done to me and that the doc should i came a talked to me when i woke up!!! But whatever... i have to go and see him in 2 weeks.... It's been about 8 hrs since... and i've taken 3 tylenol 3's and the pain is barable! Just very itchy.... well that's it and i cant wait to see what it looks like.... i'll let you know when i find out!!! aky ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

That's 3 days away...... aky ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

good to hear back from you bro. glad to see that everything went okay...why do you think you felt like vomiting earlier-was that a result of the anesthesia? (I think my dentist told me that before I had my wisdom teeth removed). How large are the bandages? Can you wear a sweatshirt without them being noticeable? What's your movement like? (can you swing your arms around or twist your upper body or does that cause alot of pain?) I think its best not to get any water on or near the area until you talk to your doc-you want to keep the area sterile and dry. When is your pain supposed to subside? Talk to you soon bro. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

man good to hear from you hope you get good results from the surgery, question did he remove part of the gland by cutting it out, or did he just lipo. the fat around the gland out. just curious. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

5-7 days to let the juices drain should suffice for the elastic bands for lipo. hold on you got general..I'll have to ask my dad he does that shit for a living, just not for gyno. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Go back to him before your next scheduled appt. and have him drain it. I went back to my doc about 6 times to drain it. You stay left with some bleeding inside because of the surgery........ "B" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

BIGPUN, ya i think the vomiting feeling was from the anesthesia. The bandages are all the way acrooss my chest from the left to the right and they go to almost my back and up and down it's from my collar bone to my betty button... Ya all i plan to wear is sweatshirts.... it's not to noticable... but my movement suxxxx... can barley move my upper body and if i try to causes pain.. not too much but it's enough for me... what really is bothering me is the itchyness.... cant ever attempt to scratch it...... there was apin when i got up this monring but i popped some tylenol 3's and it's starting to feel better......... also i went to eagle ridge hospital.... and l ive in surrey!!! Gatecrasher, mule, And about this draining thing... i've never heard anything about it.... can someone explain more thourghly??? he said to come see him in 2 weeks?? That seems kind of long to me??? Who know.. well i'd appriciate it if someone could explain this draining thing to me... thanks.... aky!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sometimes a small drain is inserted through a separate incision to draw off excess fluids. Once closed, the incisions are usually covered with a dressing. The chest may be wrapped or a garment used to keep the skin firmly in place. As I understand the more tissue or fat is removed the more likly the chances of the surgen putting the drains in. Also about getting them drained I would be sure to check with the doctor on that, some doctors do it and some dont. The stuff that is drained is a hematoma, witch means pertaining to blood, so it is a accumulation of blood in the areas that the tissue or fat was removed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

AKY, Congradulations,Welcome to the club! your gyno must have been very big I never have had such a big bandage.I got my second on monday and I am only wearing a large bandage over the incision today. but the incision it is still pulled together by surgical tape the stiches are on the inside. glad you are doing better,I too threw up and almost passed out when I stood up to use the restroom. Those anesthetic drugs are strong. did you get both cut out at the same time??? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Amateur Bodybuilder ![]() ![]() Posts: 226 |
ya both were cut out at the same time.... TEXAS... how can you only have a bandaid on it.. aren't you suppose to keep some pressure on the site so the skin can adjust to the new formation of the body. I'm not even sure where my incision is... or what my nips even look like... i tried to take a peak by lifting up the dressing a bit and it looks all wringly.... hell at least it looks better than before..... but its pretty sore right now... how did you take a shower.. spunge bath... i'm going to cover it in ceranne wrap(sp???) and take a bath or something, hope i dont get it too wet... but i'm going to keep this on until i see the doc because i've read so many other bro's getting this done and they removed the vest/bandages when they shouldnt have.. and if they left it on the results would have been better!!! aky ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Aky,I have my girl wash me in the bathtub. She washed my hair first time yesterday. It got my bandages around my neck wet though so just don't wash your hair. My gyno was small ,but I had to have surgury on my neck, so the Dr. went ahead and took out the gyno also .He cut around the nipple but he went at it from the top instead of the bottom of the nipple. He said there will be no scar I have looked at it he did a great job.

Big J, Aky, was there something in particular you said to your plastic surgeon to convince him that the surgery is not for cosmetic purposes, ie. mental distress, etc.? Isn't it covered if you state that the gyno occurred naturally? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Cool Novice ![]() ![]() Posts: 17 |
That is correct, if you tell him it occured naturally and is a cause of great discomfort they will have no problem taking it out. One piece of advice though, Make sure your doc has done this before, or get him to refer you to someone who specializes in this field. If he fucks up your fucked for life! ![]() ![]() ![]()

I had gyno surgery about 4 years ago. Not because of AAS, but I developed it during puberty. I had to wear the bandage w/ a drain in it for a couple weeks and had to have it drained every so often. Don't do anything physical for a while even if u think u can without hurting that area. Trust me.. I thought it was well enough to play basketball again, and I ended up catching an elbow right on that side of my chest.. and it sent me to the ground because the pain was so terrible. Just lay low and let it heal.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

AKY, GLAD TO HEAR YOU HAVE NO PAIN FROM THE SURGERY. I WILL BE GOING IN NEXT MONDAY FOR MINE. I WILL BE GETTING AN INCISION UNDER EACH NIPPLE TO REMOVE THE TISSUE AND THE FAT. DUE TO MY GEAR USE, THE GYNO WHICH I HAD FROM WHEN I WAS YOUNGER TURNED HARD AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE REMOVED WITH LIPO, THEREFORE CAUSING THE NEED TO PHYSICALLY GO IN THERE AND REMOVE IT. I AM A LITTTLE NERVOUS BC THEY WILL NOT BE PUTTING ME UNDER FOR SURGERY. HE TOLD ME THEY WERE GONNA GIVE ME AN IV LINE WITH DILUTED NOVACANE IN IT, THIS WILL CAUSE MY UPPER BODY GO NUMB. AS FAR AS THE DRAINAGE, THE INCISIONS WHERE THEY DID THE LIPO ARE NOT STITCHED TOGETHER. THEY ARE LEFT OPEN TO ALLOW THE RELEASE OF SALINE THAT WAS PLACED IN YOUR CHEST TO REPLACE THE FAT THAT WAS REMOVED. THIS WILL ALLOW YOUR SKIN TO FORM PROPERLY IN THE FIRST 24-72 HOURS. I WAS ALSO TOLD TO START WALKING ON A TREADMILL FOR AT LEAST 1 MILE A DAY STARTING THREE DAYS AFTER SURGERY. THE MORE YOU WALK, THE LESS SWELLING YOU WILL HAVE. WALKING ALLOWS YOUR BLOOD TO CIRCULATE AND NOT SIT IN THE AREA OF THE SURGERY. AS FAR AS THE VEST, I WAS TOLD TO WEAR IT FOR 3 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY TO ALLOW PROPER FORM AND PRESSURE ON THE SITE. BEST OF LUCK AND I WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW HOW I MAKE OUT WHEN I GET BACK FROM MINE NEXT WEEK...ZEUS13 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

hey guys well it's been 4 days since i got the surgery and theres not really any pain... just very itchy! As you know i have no idea what my doc did (as i explained earlier in this thread) and was curious!! I took off the bandages and took a look... there are 3 incisions.... all on my lower pec... not even close to my nipples... there is 1 on the left side and 2 on the right pec... i have no idea why there are 3... and i dont know if there's a drain??? The incisions were scabby and i didnt really want to touch it.... my nips look wrinkly.... ummmm how do i explain this??? Wrinkly like the back of your elbow(when it's extended)!! Not that big... but something like that.. hope you get the picture! I'm going to call my doc today morning when they open... he didnt give me any type of a vest! It's just bandages that are on really tight.... they started to get loose but i managed to get the very tight to put on good pressure to the site!!! I dont really know if i have the drains... does everyone get them???
And for the insurance covering it... i just went in to get it checked.... and the doc said yup i can take care of this.... and he said that all he had to do was write a letter to the medical company and get approval for this procedure.... he also said that he'd write it so that they wont refuse it.... but saying i'm in shape not fat and it occured naturally.... basiclly he wanted his money... i dont give a shit as long as i got it for free... no deductable either.... and to think i was willing to pay for it toooo!!!

I wore a drain.. It was a little thing they taped over your nipple that had a tube on it and it drained all that stuff out from under your nipple. Your doctor may have done it a different way though.. mine was cut out, the incision was made right on the bottom part of the nipple. If you needed a drain im sure they would've gave u one... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

twice here with no drain. The swelling will subside. YOu see what I mean about getting the gland pulled out. So many people say, " why the hell wouldnt you get the gland taken out" Now you see why. The Doc doesnt like that idea one bit. Make sure you dont do any kind of exercise for at least 10 days. YOu dont want swelling problems that may lead to scaring. Oh yea you will just love the bruises! ![]() ![]() ![]()

i just took a look and i have no drain... 3 incisions all stiched up! The brusing isnt that much... at least right now! Will there be any negatives if i take off my bandage every day for about 5 mins.... every morning i redo the entire thing and make it tighter and readjust it b/c in always slips throughout the day.... BTW, while i was changing it today i dropped something on the floor and i went to pick it up and i noticed my pecs were bouncy!!! Do you know what i mean... bouncing like when a chick doesnt wear a bra ![]() aky ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

ZEUS, i got your email but those incisions are stiched up??? I'm trying to keep as much pressure on the site as my doc didnt give me any sort of vest.... what i'm using is my thermal heat belt.. you know those ones that you buy for losing water weight around your waist.... it's working great for this purpose... just put the padding that the doc gave me underneath and wrap the belt around my entire body!!! aky ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's so Fu#k'n itchy... i cant stand it.... and the thing is that i cant even get close to the spot and try to scratch it.... it all covered up.... i cant even scratch through the padding because it's so damn thick... well i guess that means it's healing!!! aky ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

ok... i called my doc's office today and i made an appointment for 2 weeks time.. i also asked how long do i have to keep the bandages on for... and they said that i can take it off.. i also asked what was done and she said that she doesnt have the operating report but i told her that there are 3 small incisions.... she said then most likely liposuction was used.... so i took of the bandages and took a shower... b/c stunk and was so damn itchy.... it's still very sore and there are bruises all over! The nipples look strange right now... but i think it gets better!!! Also i need to develop my pecs ALOT then i'm sure it will fill in! Right now when i walk ther're not sore just the irritating when my shirt rubs up against them. Also alot of bouncing! Whenever i walk up or down stairs.. they bounce alot... but i'm not going to try anything any time soon... i want it to heal properly even B4 i touch it!!! aky... i'll keep you posted! ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

this is what i have been told by different doctors about gyno surgery: one said he would remove the gland and then use lipo to recountour the chest including under the arm pit. then after words you would have to wear a tight vest so that the skin is held tighly against the body so it heals properly.no scars would be visible. he would also leave some of the gland so the nipple didnt invert. and he did not even bother calling the insurance company to find out if they cover it. I had to call and find out. i saw work he has done before in pictures he showed me every picture look pretty good. he would perform the surgery in his office where they have an surgery rooms. another doc told me that she would remove it by cutting it out and no lipo and would leave some breast tissue so the nipple wouldnt invert. she said after the surgery i would probably have some fluid built up in the nipple. she said that i can either come their and have her take it out with a needle or it would go away on its own in time. She didnt try getting it covered by insurance either. After words i would wear tight bandages for the same reasons as above. I would have scars on the bottom of my nipples She would perform the surgery in a hospital. one other told me she would use lipo to remove the the gland and fat even under the armpit. She said she would leave some breast tissue so it looks normal and by removing to much it would make it look to flat and would not look right with my body structure. She said that men have breast tissue also but not as much as women but it should pertrude very little. I would also have to wear tight bandages after so the skin heals close to the muscle. I will have scars under the nipples. Also if there is to much skin she would have to remove the nipple and cut skin out. but in my case she felt that she would 99% not have to do that. She is the only doc that has tried to get my insurance to cover it. Since i am young she said that my skin will go back into place. thought i share this. ![]() ![]() ![]()

thanks CHUCKLES.... i got lipo done to mine and it was done in a hospital. I had to wear tight bandages... do you know for how long?? AKY, SOUNDS LIKE THEY MAY HAVE FILLED YOUR CHEST WITH SALINE, WHICH MAY BE CAUSING THE BOUNCING. I WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD TAKE UP TO 4-6 MONTHS UNTIL YOUR CHEST FINALLY CONTOURS TO THE END SHAPE AFTER SURGERY. OK guys here was my experience. Gyno surgery about 10 years ago. Doc went in under the nipple on both sides. I was sick from the anasthetic afterwords like you said, real thirsty, got fed the shitty apple juice, got sicker, etc. Had to wear the bandage across the chest and there were drains in place. I can't remember how long I had to wear the bandages. My doc was not a plastic surgean so he basically went after the gyno aggressively and did not do any molding our contouring. Insurance covered the procedure (non-cosmetic). I have significant indentations, which causes a skin fold which is getting more noticable as I age. It looks best when I am very lean which is not that often anymore. There are also slight scars under the nipple at the lower part of the aereloa which does not look so good either. Overall, the appearance is probably better than having the gyno but still a disappointment. Girlfriends all ask about the indentation, they notice when they rub my pecs. My buddy got the same treatment as I did about the same time, and has the same issues. We are now thinking about re-visiting a plastic surgean, but not sure what can be done at this point to help the appearance. So that may give you some idea of what may be in store over time. Sorry it is not a happier story, at least for me. Strongly advise working with a doc that understands the cosmetic implications and takes that into account more than my doc. Oh, in my case I quit roids when I was 25. Most of the gyno developed when I took HCH coming off the last cycle, with no Clomid or anti-estrogens. I just turned 41. ![]() ![]() ![]()
