I recently went to get my hair cut and the woman who cuts my hair said she was amazed at how much thicker my hair was since the last time that she had cut it. I noticed it thinning about a yr. ago so I decided to use Nizoral shampoo and it has noticeably thickened since I began using it. She has never even heard of Nizoral or what I told her that it could do. She wants me to send her some info on it. (Good info..like websites with testimonies and scietific shit) The problem is that I can't find a damn thing on it. If anyone could direct me in the direction of some good hard information I would be very grateful. I will vouch for you because it does work, I used it before and will be a staple in my cycle. NOTE: when you wash with it, shampoo then rinse, then shampoo again but leave it until you're done washing your whole body, meaning leave it in at least 5minute in your hair.  | ||

Yes, Nizoral works very well. My hair is much thicker, especially in the front part of my head. | ||

Ditto, I use nizoral every 3rd day, head and shoulders with the menthol everyday I don't use the nizoral, and yes I think its made a difference. Also staying away from the high DHT converting AS. I also mixed in a little propecia, but was told by my MD, it is actually an estiol/ estrogen producer and will actually lower my libido. Since I seem to get that at the end of every cycle, I decided to stay with the nizorl and ditch the propecia. . . | ||

I agree that I believe it works. She believes that it works now too because I am living proof. But she cannot go telling her clients to go out and buy it just because she has a couple juice-heads giving her the go ahead. (just fuckin with yall on the juice heads thing, thought it sounded funny) Yall get the point though. I thank you for backing me though and again if anyone knows of any hard evidence I would love to know it. I've always wondered- what is it in Nizoral that helps remove the DHT from the scalp? (I've been using it for a few months now but haven't noticed too much of a difference) | ||

There was one study done on Nizoral (2% ketoconazole) that showed regrowth comparable to that of 2% minoxodil. However, I think Mooney believes that it is especially effective in steroid users in particular, and it seems that it may be of more use in preventing hair loss than in regrowing hair. | ||

There are two possible theories for Nizoral's effectiveness: 1.) a weak anti-inflammatory effect or 2.) inhibition in several enzymatic pathways, aromatase and several of the cytochrome P450 enzymes. This causes a reduction in local hormonal levels. | ||

Damn, I guess I'm the exception. I've been using Nizoral 2% EOD and 1% in between for 2 years, off cycle!, and haven't noticed any change. Granted, I don't seem to losing any hair but I'm certainly not growing any. | ||

Nizarol is a antifungal shampoo. The 2% is by script and the 1% is OTC. It works by cleansing the Sebum from the scalp with opens the pores. Sebum is the substance that clogs pores and creates acne(whiteheads) My friend uses it with every cycle. He said it keeps his back and shoulders zit free. | ||
