you know what this might sound stupid... but i'm not sure... i never knew too much when i went in for my consultation but i know now that i want the whole gland removed.... i'm going to ask him and see if he'll remove the whole gland.. but most people have said that the doc wont because it will make an indentation which will make him look bad!! What do you think.. i should go for the gland right!! aky!!! | ||

The good thing if they remove the gland is that it will never come back. The flipside, like you mentioned, is the indent - for this they usually throw in some filling (silicon?) to even you out. Both have their upsides and downsides, it would be nice to never worry about gyno again but a bitch if that insert wasnt to real feeling. Slopain | ||

if he wont take the gland, then ask him to lipo some of the fat that grew around the nodule he's removing. The first time mine left it in but the second time he took it out. He thought it may leave a litte indenture as well. | ||

ya i know either way there's a down side... it's going to be local.... i'll let you guys know tomorrow... and TEXAS... how did you feel on the same day of the surgery... and thanks for all the responses!!! I tried to get the whole gland removed but my DR. said it was unethical. he never asked me about steroids but he did ask if I smoked pot which I don't. I had general anathesia because they also cut a thyroil glossal duct cyst from my neck. durring recover I refused to wear my gown. Since I am at my all time best I wanted the nurses to see my body.Funny what you will do when you pumped full of drugs!! I could stop flirting with all the nurses and orderlees Even though I couldn't phsically I wanted to nail everyone of them. | ||

I understand that there are 2 types of gynecomastia.... i have the puffy nips and i feel a hard object under my tit.... i sure hope he'll remove the whole gland!!! | ||

painful nipples and a hard grandual knot behind it. I went to the hosp. at 5:30am had surgury at 7:15am awoke around 11:00am awoke again in another recovery room at 12:30pm. I was very tired from the anathetic drugs I was not in pain but I could not raise my head or stand because I would get dizzy and lose balance. my girl friend picked my up at 4:00 I could move then put very slowly.with all the pain meds. all I wanted to do was lie down. If it is local then you have no problems. I was out moving around Immediatly with my first surgury. hope this helps | ||

anytime bro, local anathesia is no problem. when I had my first done as I said earlier it was local I saw the whole thing thru the reflection from the glass from the lights.when the Dr. cut the mass out it was the size of a golf ball. the wierd thing was that I only felt a small lump when it was in be body.the gyno must go back very deep inside the breast. good luck to you. | ||

I understand that if your pec muscle is quite thick and you have low body fat, the chances of getting the Dr to remove the gland is much better. I would also say, that if it is going to leave and indention why not tell the Dr. that since he already has you cut open, why not just stick an implant behind the chest muscle? (wishful thinking) | ||

Jae, I don't think that is a concern I am 3-4%BF at 205lbs.My dr. would not even talk to me about removing the gland.He said it was unethical period .I told him that the gyno will come back and I don't want to keep having surgeries.Which is a lie because I haven't had gyno in my left breast since the first surgery.I don't believe I ever will. | ||

I got my gyno surgery today actually. The put me out with morphine. It was all done when I woke up. Stiches inside which will go away by themselves and taped on the outside of the nipple. The doctor won't drain unless I cant stay away from excersiseing then there will be infections and shit. 3 weeks of rest and I'l be back. Got tape around the nipples so it's hard to tell the result right now but from what I can tell and what the doc told me... there won't be no noticable scars.. and the result seems fine. No glands removed. | ||

the scars are very small and almost unnoticable, depends on surgens ability, the incision is made right where the skin and nipple come together so you cannot see it as well | ||

yes, mule is right. however, if the surgeon hasn't done any gyno operations, the scars actually can be pretty ugly. i've seen a couple of pictures in the net, where the scarmarks are actually on your pec! i mean, not anywhere near nipple! that's gotta suck! i guess that the surgeon can't make the scar on the edge of the nipple, if the gyno is too big. i mean a-cup or over ------------------ | ||
