FAR FROM IMPOSSIBLE... RED MEAT BABY... STEAK AND EGGS FOR BREAKFAST.. COTTAGE CHEESE, PROTEIN SHAKES... BUT RED MEAT IS WHERE ITS AT... FACE IT, AT DINNER ALONE A NICE STEAK IS GONNA GET YOU WELL OVER 60GRAMS.

YOUR MEAL REPLACEMENTS ARE GONNA GIVE YOU 40, SO JUST IN THEM TWO SERVINGS YOU HAVE OVER 100... ITS A BITCH, BUT DOABLE... I SAY YOU EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND THATS THAT...

BUT ON A SIDE NOTE, 2.2 SEEMS VERY HIGH. I BELIEVE THAT WOULD BE PER LEAN LB OF BODY WEIGHT... I AIM FOR 1.5 PER LB OF BODY WEIGHT MYSELF...

Hey bro how it going. I'm not sure if 2.2 grams per pound of bodyweight is the magic number. Usually 1 to 1.5 grams per pound will do the job.

Divide that up into about 6 meals a day and its not too hard to get that amount of protien. About 6 jumbo size eggs will give you about 50 grams. 6 to 8 oz. of red meat or chicken will get you about 50 grams of protien. Eat about 3 servings of meat a day. Right there that gives you aprox. 200 grams of protien. Throw in a couple protien shakes a day and you easily have over 300 grams total for the day. Space you meals every 2 to 3 hours and its not that hard to take in that much protien. Be sure to take in some complex carbs with the protien if you're training to gain mass.

yeah, but shouldn't you try to get at the most, 50 grams per meal? Any more than that, and some say more than 40, per meal will just be wasted. The body can't take in that much protein in one meal. That's one reason to space it out to 6-7 meals per day.

Yeh... A 6oz can of tuna/dolphin has 150 cals, 32g of pro, and 1.5g of fat. I go to sams and buy 200 cans at a time. Thats a good sized box of them. Cheap, and I think they are tasty mixed with cattage cheese. I hope there are enough flippers for us all.

Hmmm, try weighing nearly 300lbs and trying to gain weight. I just finished off my 2 full cans of tuna, large class of skim milk, and 3 servings of white rice before bed. Man...I am pretty full. At 7 meals today. Gotta grow.

I think that you're misteken LBS for kgs. It is 2,2-3 gr per kg. But anyway I agree it is still a lot of shit. One of the basic rules of BB is eating all day, except when training, sleeping and fucking. But I'm working on how to fuck and eat at the same time, because my girlfriend is very demanding.

Figure that if you make a protien shake that has 22g of protien per scoop.

Put three scoops in...that is 66g of protien.

Take three shakes a day, that is almost 200g of protien right there.

eggs, steak, tuna, mrps, weight gainer.

If you eat six meals on top of three protien shakes a day you are set.

protein is useless if you shit it all out right away. gotta keep the the amount of cals & protein in each meal to a digestible amount.

I saw a post on the body having little trouble absorbing 100grams per meal. Maybe 1911 can find it. The idea of spacing the meals is so the body will not canabalize.

There's never been a study that reflects how much protien the body can handle in one sitting. In fact it might be useless to assign a number to the amount lost. I say this because there are factors involved that people rarely take into account. Metabolism, body volume and maybe even a genetic predisposition to protein synthesis.

Those who do not err on the side of excess may very well be behind the curve.

DAMNIT! CAN WE PUT MY QUESTION TO REST? No one seems to have the same answer. How much protein can a person digest in 1 hour? I have heard 40grams *from FLEX and M&F* 50G, up to over 100 from people on this board. Damnit already, what is the answer?

Here it is real simple like: If you need 250grams per day that is 42grams per meal 6x per day. That is easy to do. I gauge it on my body. Whenever I consume too much protein in one meal, especially in high protein shakes, I get the runs. Obviously that protein went nowhere. Follow your own body bro. If you can handle and digest 100grams of protein in one meal than go for it. My point is, most people I've talked to feel like shit when they consume too much. If you're body is rejecting your intake than your body is trying to tell you something. We need to follow our bodily instincts. Plus, remember, all of these godammed protein companies are going to publish reports that say "You need 400grams of protein per day." THEY WANT TO MAKE MONEY. IF YOU DIDN'T NEED THAT MUCH PROTEIN, AND THEY TOLD YOU THIS, THEY WOULD LOSE MONEY IN SALES. Common sense bro's.

Maybe it's just me but I have never heard of too much protein giving the runs.. Just the opposite. Maybe it is the dairy your consuming?

I have recently done alot of research on this particular subject. The correct amount of protein that most Pro-Bodybuilders intake is 1.2-1.6g/lbs of bodyweight during the offseason. Before contest they typically consume 1.75-2.0g/lbs of bodyweight. 2.2 is actually unhealthy amount...Inconclusive to popular belief you can consume too much protein and it is actually unhealthy. Me and on of my colleagues have posted and elaborate article on this topic at:
http://bodybuilding.about.com/recreat ion/bodybuilding/sitesearch.htm?terms=protein&SUName=bodybuilding&TopNode=4295&Action.x=6&Action.y=7

BODYBUILDERS & PROTEIN, PART 1,2,&3

Part 3 actually gets into the correct ratios...1&2 is a good thing to read to help you gain alot more knowledge as far as foods...Read all three articles and you will be a whiz on the topic of protein.
