I plan on going to So. Cal for my niece's graduation. If I can get over the border, can I buy the gear and have it shipped over to my friend's house? 1) My wife would kill me if she knew. 2) If I did, a family friend would be with me and could rat me out if I took it over the border.

If I could ship it, what would be the best way??

If you ship it from TJ it will be snagged, no doubt. If you cross the border and mail it from SD it will make it, no doubt.

I wouldn't ship anything from Mexico. I personally wouldn't walk with gear across the border either. If you plan on bringing it back then drive.
