I did a shot two days ago, now my right upper buttocks is extremely painful and swollen. Is this a boil or what?     | ||

Bullshit, you should sweat it, if its an infection (which is what is sounds like) youll need to get some antibiotics if you dont have access to some go to the doc the sooner the better. Erythromycian 500mg caps 1 every 6 hours is what you need for 14 or more days to kill it. Here are some questions: Is it painfull? If you answered yes, its an infection. If it gets bigger you need to go to the doc, I treated myself with antibiotics (I got 2 infections on this last cycle). Just because the pain isn't directly under the point of injection does not mean it isn't an infection. Mine were cyllendar like and just above my injection spot. yes it is painful, and painful to the touch. I don't think it can get any bigger though, the whole top of my buttcheeck is inflammed. It isn't red or pink. | ||

also Slopain I started a new job about a month ago and my insurance hasn't started yet. How much do you think these antibiotics are going to run? thanks for the help bro. | ||

Well you will know for sure in a couple days if its an infection that isnt dying you will know for sure, when it hurts to sit down or get yourself in the car, or when rolling over in bed and you wake up b/c of the pain. My bets on it being an infection, I hope not, but be prepared to go to the doc if you need to. Sounds like your irritated at the site of injection , this will generally go away on its own . I didnt mean to sound cavalier with my previous statement , ive had literally hundreds of shots and ive never ( knock on wood ) had a infection/abcess. If its really that bad , please follow Slos advice and seek medical attention ( better to err to the side of caution ). | ||

Well I got mine for $20 but thats Mexico pricing. I really dont know, Id guess a couple hundred bucks, plus the office visit. I really don't know though. Slopain | ||

all that you described Slopain, it is painful to sit down, roll over in bed, also I can't even sleep on my right side. again thanks for the advice, I'm going to see a doc if the pain doesn't start going away in the next day or two. | ||

First, not all red, swollen, painful sites are infections. Sometimes the drugs themselves can illicit an inflammatory reaction, this will subside over time. But, if it does not go down, then most definately go to the Dr. Second, go to Lambriar vet (do a search for them). They sell anti-biotics that are targeted for aquariums (yeah, right) and they carry all the major anti-biotics used in humans...and guess what? In human doses too. You do not need prescriptions for these. Finally, MACROBID will not work, since nitrofurantoin does not reach levels that are effective in the tissues, but only in the urinary tract. |
