Valium comes from the drug class of benzodiazepams. Its generic name is diazepam. It is used as others have said as primarily a relaxant both for the muscles and the mind. It is highly addictive as well.The Rolling Stones'song "Mother's Little Helper" is about Valium and how many women in the 50's became addicted to it. MAO inhibitors are an older class of anti-depressant drugs. Unlike the SSRI's (selective seretonin reuptake inhibitors, such as Prozac, you must watch your diet with the MAO drugs as well. Hi, Safe maybe, but pointless. Valium is a member of a family called 'benzodiazapams' which are central nervous system depressents therefore they will in many ways 'counteract' ephedrine which amongst many other things, (ie bronchodialater, etc) is a central nervous system stimulant. People use benzo's occasionally for coming down from speed (and in fact, that is one such of Valium indication in the BNF for amphetamine overdose). Actually Valium is in a drug class called Benzodiazapines.Honestly I dont think that Valium or benzos wewre around in the 50's, I am pretty sure they came in the 60's. For sleep and anti-anxiety they used barbituates like Seconal(sleeping pill) and barbituates with the exception of Phenobarbital, have a very high potential for dependency/abuse ------------------ | ||

without all those words; it is used to treat anxiety as well as xanax say your freaking out, it will calm your ass DOWN and i take 2 pills get fucked up and kick back.... later |
