I read that your body can only digest about 40 grams of protein at a time is this true and does it apply if your on the juice | ||

It is better to eat small meals all day, but I'll say this, there are many pros that state they eat up to a 1000g a day. I really dont think they eat 20 meals. I personally eat anywhere from 60 to 75g and usually if I eat to much I get gas, but with that amount I never do. | ||

That myth has been disproven by nitrogen testing. Eat as much as you can digest. (That means without shitting your pants from having the runs) | ||

The idea that the body can only absorb or digest 40 grams of protein is crazy. I know that when I eat a Porterhouse, I don't crap big wads of undigested steak. ------------------ The moral? its different for everybody, while on juice this will increase because juice increases protein uptake if you can only digest so much at a time how long would you have to wait after you eat? ------------------ "I cried when I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet. 40 grams is a old wives tale, if you can eat it without stomach problems or digestion problems it should be alright. I think anything over 100 grams at a time is a waste only because at 4 calories per gram it adds up too fast. Judge by your bowel movements though. |
