HOW DO YOU GUY'S MEASURE YOUR BODYFAT. DO YOU HAVE IT PROFESSIONALY DONE AT THE GYM, OR DO YOU DO IT YOUR SELF.
I WANT TO MONITIOR MY PROGRESS THRU MY CYCLE, AND AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE BEST METHOD. IVE SEEN THE BODYFAT SCALES FROM "TANITA", OR I CAN BUY CALIPERS, AND DO IT MYSELF. WILL EITHER OF THESE WORK, AND WHICH IS MOST ACCURATE.

you can buy the scale it is acurate but expensive. well the more acurate ones are. the calipers you wont be able to do the measurement yourself and if you dont do it right you will get the wrong BF%. the scale is the best way if your doing it yourself with no help. another way is measure you waiste around the belly button and then measure your neck. subtract you neck measure ment from your waiste measurement and i have a chart the goes by height of what the bodyfat% is. you cant suck in the gut or flare out your neck, be honest and youll get an honest answer. e-mail me if you have any questions.

Go with the calipers. Bio-imped. is not very accurate in lean folks.

BTW - I know this will draw some flames, but it is very accurate for me.

Bodyweight times 1.082. Add 98.4 to this number. Call this number A.

Measure your fully relaxed waist at its largest point. Multiply this number by 4.14. This number is B.

Subtract B from A, and you are left with a pretty accurate LBM for males.

Subtract LBM from scale weight and divide by scale weight and multiply by 100. This is %BF.

Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It realizes that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve to death.

The moral?

It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up - you had better be running.

I have done both and they are both pretty accurate in comarison. Calipers are cheaper and if doen correctly you should be fine.

Has anyone tried the "digatal fat track calipers" by ast research? They sell them for $30 and some change at dps nutrition.
I've been considering buying them but don't know how accurate they are?

Just tried the shadows method and it works out at 4% YES!!! and I've just done a mass cycle. OK he said it isn't that accurate for everybody.
I'd guess I'm really about 7.
I'm gonna get some callipers now as I don't actually know what it is. I have a naturally low level of b/f so have not really been that concerned with it. I'm one of those people who could drive thru a McDonalds drive thru all day constantly eating and still wouldn't get fat. I don't though as I keep a strict diet. Noticed a little increase though since I introduced the slin.

Strength-Monster ya sure you let your gut ALL the way out??

Seriously though my waist is 32.5 and I weigh 218. That was within 1.2% of a hydro-static BF test.

I promise you I am not bullshitting. My waist is 30-31 when I am bloated. If I diet it can go down to 27". I am 6'1" @210lb. It's just the way my genetics are, people cannot belive how small my waist is. I could eat Mc D's all day and stay lean but I do keep a strict diet as well.

By the way getting jeans to fit is a f*cking nightmare. Try finding jeans when your waist is almost as small as each quad. Although my waist is small my arse isn't either as I've allways squated.

I know, but I f*ckin love it.

Only drawback is I find it so hard to put the size on and keep it. I compete in 12 mnths so I am eating like crazy for mass. I'm not planning to diet until about 3-4 wks out! In my 12 yrs of training I have never met anybody who is the same.

Sorry if this pisses you off, but I get pissed by these guys who just look at a gym and put on 20lbs.

Pissed - Hell no. I am just glad there are some who are fortunate enough to stay lean year round.

On the other hand - I can gain LBM pretty easily, but I do have to watch what I eat in order to do that.
