I'm about to make my fina and I just needed to get a funnel. I purchased one at the chemistry storage room today at my lab thinking they would be brand new, but they were not. The funnel I got has been used and has a little white, dried powder on the inside. I was thinking about scubbing it in hot, soapy water and cleaning really well. Should I still use it, or find a brand new one? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Go back and ask them for a new one still in the package. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

1:5 bleach:water will sterilize. So will prolonged exposure to UV radiation (black light). Go for it. You have got a sterile filter, yes? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

yes I've got a sterile filter. So: hot water soap bleach and scrubbing should be ok? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

bump just to make sure I'm not worried about sterility, thats not a problem to take care of, I'm just worried about chemicals on/in the funnel that could contaminate the batch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
