How long does it take to recover from surgery? When can you get back in the gym?

I was back in the gym after 2 weeks, but you cant and I mean not do a fucking thing. Any kind of exercise will cause inflamation to the scar which would cause severe bleeding.

I had the surgery when I was 14/15.. can't exactly remember.. But it was before I started lifting.. and it was sore to the touch for over a month. I had to wear a drain in my nipple covered up w/ a big patch for a few weeks and once it was taken out my nipple stayed sore for along time. And heavy lifting would make it hurt... I think it will put u behind quite a bit in the gym, but u gotta do what ya gotta do i guess...

I'll tell ya, the surgery itself is a fairly simple procedure. I was in and out in a few hours and back home to sleep it off. But the pain is what takes a while to go away. I would consider getting it done on my left side again just so i won't have to worry w/ gyno anymore but I don't like the idea of being unable to lift heavy for over a month.

I WOULD LISTEN TO AKY. MY SURGEON TOLD ME THAT THE LONGER YOU WAIT FROM YOUR SURGERY THE BETTER. I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT THE ABSOLUTE SOONEST WS THAT I COULD GET BACK INTO THE GYM AND HE SAID WITHIN 3-4 WEEKS I COULD BEGIN LIGHT CARDIO AND LOWER BODY BUT NOT UNTIL 6-7 WEEKS AFTER COULD I RETURN TO CHEST AND UPPER BODY. BE PATIENT. THERE IS NO REASON TO JEAPORDIZE THE RESULTS OF YOUR SURGERY...ZEUS13

I don't know if any of you remember the pro Stan 'Curly Top' McCrary or McCray or whatever. He trained at my gym a while, when he had his surgery, his stitches were out for like three weeks and he was doing leg presses, brought his knees back to his chest and POP!! His scar tissue was weak and ripped, popped part of the inside of his nipple out of the tear. He was wearing a tank top and it looked like someone placed a vacumm cleaner behind his nipple and sucked it inverted.
