Just a note. Bsjohnson, this happened to more than just you. I had a few mails some time ago, all with about the same story as yours, different names but the same excuse. You guys need to be very careful about considering sources. If you have a bud that has a bud...this scam method has been used for years. I'm not saying that everyone that has this scenario is a scammer but look at the following. Most of the time, the two buds will have the same email account, ie hush or hot or whatever. Their references will almost always be the same too. You must always, always follow up on the ref's. Be leary of canned reply's, ie all reply's are exactely the same, or a version of the same. This is a very small circle that we run in, if you do not recognize the names or addys for the ref's....forget about it. Frequent all of the other chat boards, read as much as you can, you will soon learn that alot of these scammers are on other boards but under a different handle....that even goes for your freinds...there are several members of this board who operate under two different handles every day. Just keep your eyes open and look for these little things, The bait and switch tactic is a classic example of a scam waiting to happen. You make a small order for a great price, the next time the guy is out of that and / or then the prices go up. I would never send a WU with a no ID key. If the person on the other end doesn't want anyone to know who he is.....probably a scam. Just think about it, it is not illegal to send or receive money. I agree with all BPP said. The most important thing to remember is that REF's dont' mean shit unless they are known and respected. It may be hard for a newbie to know who is a man of his words, this is when you call the mods into play to ask if the source and the refs he gives are reputable people. A side note: I don't think any source wants you to know who he is, if that was the case he'd be doing local business for better $. I can't blame a source for covering his ass. BPP, I'm going to bump this because it is important information. Slopain, you are absolutely right: REFs don't mean shit unless they are reputable. I've seen some of the strangest references, unknowns. That's not to say some might not be solid, but as BPP said, it's a small world in which we travel. And if you frequent the better boards, you will understand who the vets and mods are. Always better to check with them first. Dexter ------------------ | ||

I think BPP meant that they don't need ID to pick the money up. You have them answer the test question instead. That way they don't have to have ID to pick the money up. | ||

Your very right Jackle thats why its best to stick around the board for a while recognize who are the more respected and intelligent people (mods are usually a good start), so you can know who to trust for references. Slopain | ||
