I lost 70lbs in 6 months while eating the following weekly diet: Days 1-5 Days 6-7 Took my BF from 30+ down to 13%. I've been at thsi level for about 8 months on 40/30/30. Just started the diet again and it's working. Starting to see the outline of some abs. Damn love handles are hanging on though. Get this: my LDL went down! HDL went up!

Congrats bro, if eating like that isn't clogging your arteries like a bowling ball in a garden hose, live it up!! So when do you plan on hitting the contest stage??? ------------------

Like I said Badkins21, the damn love handles are hangin on. I haven't seen too many contestants w/ these things hangin off their sides. Their shrinking, but man it looks weird to see the outline of your abs when you have love handles. Maybe I'll just cop 'em off!

Hey bull_dog, don't ever sell yourself short or set limits to what you can achieve! Damn, I sound like a motivational speaker...but really, imagine how far you've come and use that as your motivation! Again--CONGRATS!!! That's a lot of weight to lose, that's why more than half of America is OBESE...be proud, but never content with your current situation--ALWAYS STRIVE FOR MORE! OK, I'm off my soapbox! ------------------

Thanks man. Yeah, I'm VERY happy with my results. I must have tried like 10 times before to lose weight. I just had no clue on dieting and training to know what to do. For a long time I thought that "fat free" meant eat all you like. I didn't think sugar was so bad. Man. Knowledge is power.

Cyclical Ketogenic Diet. It is a diet where you cut out all carbohydrates for approx. 5 days and then load up on carbs for approx. 2 days

Check out this link: http://home.earthlink.net/~vinnyi/dieting/diets.htm The Anabolic Diet and Body Opus are both CKD diets. Body Opus might be the toughest diet to follow ever. It was created by Dan Duchaine. I have had success just by implementing the concepts of CKD without doing all of the math and using "the right carbs in the right order" as described in Body Opus. The best info on the net about these diets seems to have disappeared. It was an extremely detailed description of Body Opus anlong with like a 13 week diary. This info was put together by a guy named Lyle McDonald who now has his own book on the subject. I suspect this might be why the free info has disappeared. Anyway, this has worked well for me.

When you cut your carbs like that how do you find the energy to work out?

It's not easy. The first three days or so when your going into Ketosis it's terrible. You feel like crap. After that you get used to it. I use the ECA stack to get me going and usually throw in a a pot or even two of coffee. |
