Okay, i know i called him an asshole and a pussy but he's in the hospital now with a shattered cheekbone, a concusion, a ruptured blood vessel in his brain and his neck is so fucked up that the doctor said if he was hit hard again he would be paralized. Also, he tried to tell his trainer that he couldn't see (like he was partially blind)after the first round but forgot that he didnt speak Polish.....errr, okay. Anyway, maybe our reaction was a little harsh, no?     | ||

I take it all back. He was dizzy and had bad headaches, his wife took him to the hospital. He apologized to his fans. Doctor said probably the best decision he ever made was quitting or he'd be paralyzed. With all the shit that goes down in boxing it's hard not to condem the stuff that smells bad. I was also disapointed in Golata, But it looks now that he was more closer to death than being a coward. I have followed Golata's last 6 fights or so, and thought he might have a chance against Tyson, but he really did'nt. It just did'nt look good when he walked away and got pelted with stuff, people had no idea how bad he was beaten. If he was'nt so tough he would'nt have gotten up from the first Knockdown. | ||

Only thing I'm saying is lets see Tyson fight a Michale Grant, or a top contender. Then he will be exposed for the fraud that he is, but I don't doubt that Lewis is ducking him. The reason is that Lewis has nothing to gain and with that crazy basterd Tyson there is no telling what he will do. I would like to see the two of them match up, then the world would see that Tyson is nothing more than a fraudulant power puncher. No skills. Heavyweight boxing is in sambles, the real class is the middleweights and those classes between 130-160. | ||

Jdmukes, Tyson could give a fuck less about skills, winning, or losing. His goal is to fuck someone up and get paid. Lewis is ducking him and will continue to duck him. They are both the two best heavyweights out there, and people will begin to lose respect for Lewis' nuts if he continues to avoid Tyson. ------------------ | ||

Lewis IS ducking Tyson because he has the belts and there is nothing to gain by fighting Tyson. Especially when he knows Tyson has the power to take all his belts with a single well thrown punch.. i think he is a little scared to fight Tyson | ||

I understand your point. And of course doctors lie for their patients, esp the famous ones'. But this is not the kind of thing they lie about. I can't imagine them faking several surgeries over the next 2 years. The media here is going to be following this for a long time. There are over one million Polish in Chicago. 2nd only to Warsaw. If this is BS they have to know every journalist in this city will want to bust the story. | ||

I wouldnt expect them to fake surgeries, I would expect them to say he healed natrually. Don't pick apart my conspiracy theory here. I paid $50 to watch some good undercard fights (and thats aboutit), but I wanted to see tyson manhandle him for a lot longer. Excuse me If Im a doubting thomas! jdismukes---do you really have any concept about boxing, michael grant is not even on the level tyson is on. i used to box for a couple of years and know something about the sport, a (fradulent power puncher); my friend tyson's most lethal weapon is his speed and the skill he uses it with--therfore generating all that power---not to many others around can compare to his skill level, hes unmatched--and the only thing that beats tyson is tyson--when he loses his composure, golota was everyones hero till he tangled w/ a real boxer--who broke his cheek and gave him three cuts in what takes most boxers an entire fight to go thru--tyson did it in 2 rounds my friend. lennox lewis is ducking him for good reason--lewis is a glass jaw fighter and wouldnt of lasted half the beating golota took. your right he has nothing to gain but to being exposed of not being able to take a punch w/ a real fighter. adrenaline is the only thing that made golota spring up like he did! to me tyson was calm, collected and looked pretty damn on point w/ his skills, for not having much work in the ring--meaning his fights have been to short---and you have to have so much work time in the ring before they put you w/ top contenders, i dont see any contenders that would give him much trouble now, let alone when he gets more conditioned. ------------------ | ||

The Tyson-Lewis stand-off basically comes down to their HBO and Showtime contracts. Showtime holds the exclusive rights to Tyson fights and HBO holds the rights to Lewis. Neither side wants to compromise much, although I did read in USA Today last week that someone with one of those 2 cable companies had said something that offered a very dim light in otherwise dead negotiations. As far as Golota, remember that his $2 million purse is being held until it is determined that there was no wrong-doing in his decision to quit. Money can be a very motivating factor in getting a doctor to fudge tests, although I doubt that's the case here. | ||

i was screaming coward until i saw him after the fight when he said he slipped on the knock-down(he didnt know what hit him)and looked at how batterd he really was, he was hurting and knew that he mostly likely could of been seriously hurt if he would of continued. ------------------ | ||

Golata, he's still a puss, but if there's any truth to his injuries than OK, he should have quit. I do have to admit that if someone hit me the way Tyson tagged him in the first I'd be a puss about it too. Holleyfield or Lewis would and will knock the snot out of Tyson. He can't handle a guy who boxes. He's a fighter, they are boxers. There is definately a difference. | ||

If that suff is actually true about his cheekbone being broken, then he definatly should have quit. It isn't real easy to break a cheekbone. I think if Lewis knew he could take Tyson as easily as people seem to think he could, they would have a match schedualed already... ROIDRANGER, what area and weight class did you box? I am currently boxing right now as well. Just curious.. | ||

look for all you people who dont like mike tyson, go to hell.....if you dont respect or like mike you are full of it, sure the guy has brought on some Bs himself, but the governmental system has used him as a scapegoat and made an example out of him, look he is the best heavyweight right now, he gets the biggest ticket sales, and if golata stood in the ring with riddick bowe for 9 rounds, Tyson proved he is still one of the best if not the best, Lennox Lewis cant hold out much longer, he has held out for almost a year now, Tyson is peaking right now, and he has the ability to fuck lennox up, I want to see mike be the champ again, he deserves it! He knows that he is putting the heat on lennox to fight, there isnt much time left, its time for a new champ, and yes mike has fought a bunch of nobodies or chumps in his career, but now is the time to prove to everyone, including the haters he is the best and the greatest next to ali..........Go Mike..Go....oh will mike make more than lewis when they fight? Could this be a 120 million dollar fight, lennox cant turn the money down, he may never make this much again in his career, especially if mike ends it. | ||
