I don't know for sure, but I think they have something called quercitin (sp?) that has been shown to burn extra calories...and they're low-calorie anyway--and low GI...just my 2 cents, hope you hear more...

Not sure about grapefruits, but grape juice, and all juices, have a lot of sugars. Whole fruits are a lot healthier for you, than juices.

There is a chemical in grapefruit that holds caffiene/effedrine stack in the blood longer making it more effective. I dont know if it has any kind of fat burning effect of its own, but it will accelerate the effects of caffiene/effedrine.

Sorry I dont know the science. Ive tried it though and it does seem to prolong the speed effect of caf/eff.

A trainer at my gym said if I eat a grapefruit at night on an empty stomach, it will burn fat. This guy's a tool so I don't know if he knows what he's talking about.

Gearseeker, what you are noticing is somewhat common with grapefruit juice and orals. In some cases it will incease the effiacy of a drug b/c it diminishes the levels of certain acids in your stomach. I made a post about htis a while back i think it was entitled something like "increase the effects of orals' if youre interested try a search

Grapefruit has a little bit of something abbreviated KIC, a relative of HMB (of Bill Phillips/Muscle Media/EAS infamy). They used to think maybe the stuff worked. Now they know better. I've never heard of it keeping ECA in the blood longer. Grapefruit tastes okay, I've got nothing against it... Peace!
