My friend is looking to start a cycle. He's on Depakote 500mg x 3/day. It is for the prevention of seizures. Will it effect his health or his cycle? Thanx bros. ------------------

I'm not a mod, or a doc, but I'll bump this up for the sake of the health of a fellow iron bro...hope you get some good feedback, but personally, I would have him talk to his doctor, the one that prescribes it for him--lots of doctors I've read about on here turn out to be very helpful as fat as juice goes...'cause all they can do is "advise," and with something serious like seizures, I wouldn't even think about taking any chances--just my 2 cents! ------------------

What type of seizures does your friend suffer? Grand mal seizures are common, the kind where the person loses conciousness, falls to the ground, and convulses. I know depakote is subscribed for this, so I'm thinking this may be the type your friend suffers. I once ventured an opinion that since these seizures are caused by an overactive focal point in the brain causing spreading waves of spontaneous depolarization, the increased anabolic drive of AS use may decrease the excess glucose the focal point thrives on. Tell your buddy to do a web search for ketotic diets as treatment for grand mal epilepsy. Take absolutely nothing I have said here as the gospel. I think, hypothetically, that AS would not interact with grand mal epilepsy or the depakote used to treat it. Peace! ------------------

If his doctor won't help him he needs to find a new doctor. If his doctor doesn't know much about AS he may need to find a new doctor. You gotta keep your doctor informed when dealing with serious health issues.

He's probably dealing with a neurologist. It's kinda hard to just pick up a find another one cause he doesn't know anything about AS. Definately consult with his neurologist. |
