This month's issue of ironman had a pretty good article about post cycle recovery as far as test levels are concerned. A lot of the cycles that are posted here usually end with clomid and nolvadex was "on hand" in case of gyno...but not used otherwise. The article pointed out that after a cycle test levels will drop(no shit) and that will result in a high ratio of estrogen. Clomid will help this but it is slow acting...so in the meantime until clomid starts doing its thing you are in danger of losing some of your gains or worse, getting gyno... So doesn't it make sense to include nolvadex at the end of your cycle no matter what to keep the estrogen level down??? I know you can take HCG for an immediate boost in test levels..but HCG by itself can cause gyno....so I really can't think of a reason Not to take nolvadex at the end of your cycle (if your not alreday because of gyno symptoms....     | ||

I agree, i always take 10mg ED of nolva for 2 weeks when im finished with a cycle. mike ------------------ | ||

Yes it does.There is an estrogenic rebound that occurs postcycle,as androgen levels return to normal.So suppressing this effect with an aromitase inhibitor(arimidex/proviron)or estrogen blocker(nolvadex)is a very wise idea.It will not only aid in gyno fighting,but body composition as well(edema,female fat-pattern distribution). | ||

I will use arimidex for entire cycle(1/4 pill eod) and extend 2 weeks and combine it will the clomid. It works like a charm. | ||

then why cant you forget the clomid and use nolva and proviron only. Since clomid( I happen to love the stuff)doesnt prevent conversion but helps raise natural test levels to high normal, wouldnt that be redundant if you are preventing the conversion with proviron in the first place, and preventing side effects until htpa axis is returned? | ||

I'ts pretty logical....use the Nolva/proviron to keep estrogen levels down WHILE taking clomid to bring test levls up....your test levels will be low after a cycle...nolva/pro won't help that | ||

agreed, so a person in that situation could waite on the clomis until the end of cycle if preventing conversion in the first place. I just happen to be a beliver in taking clomid through out the cycle. | ||

Proviron will inhibit estrogenic rebound,however it in and of itself is an ANDROGEN,and as such will contribute to ANDROGENIC inhibition of the hypothalamus,which clomid does not do.I would personally use arimidex instead,as it exhibits no androgenic properties,along side the clomid. |
