I don't know when this was published but I thought Hush users should be aware of their comment re: Carnivore: http://www.hushmail.com/whats_new.htm HushMail v. Carnivore HushMail's security cannot be broken or weakened by this government sponsored snooping software. Hush's security system is a lot like a circuit, when one Hush user communicates with another Hush user, the circuit is complete and the mail they send is completely safe. To anyone other than the sender or the recipient of a Hush message, email appears as a jumble of numbers and letters. It is completely illegible. The only way to decrypt or unscramble Hush messages is by using your passphrase when you open up your HushMail account. Carnivore cannot decrypt your mail, and is therefore, powerless against messages sent between Hush users. Later,

Thats good to know. I just wish that certain people I need to communicate with would get a damn hushmail account. I always have to send "unencrypted" because these guys havnt wisened up to hushmail yet.

yep they had that up forever. I like the new look, what about you guys? That purple was annoying. You know whats dumb, they offer premium accts so you dont have to delete all your mail so it won't bounce, but but the only way you can get it is with a credit card. That makes it only secure, no longer anonomious. Whew I need a spellcheck. Slopain

Alot of 15 years olds are hacking hotmail man, so my guess is the federal govt, although not a whole lot smarter than the avg 15 year old, can do it as well. Heh Hotmail isnt secure.

Yes I have to agree hushmail is the way to go. Haven't checked ziplip.com yet but from what I hear it deletes your mail after you read it so you need to have a good memory :-)

I just swithced to Ziplip. It does not delete your eamils after you read em, and so far it hasn't been inaccessable for 5 days in a row like Hushmail was not to long ago.

I havent had any problems with hush in like 2 months. I also have a ziplip anad although it used to look better, its not more usable at all. The way it controls is cool if your doing 1 email a day but its a pain in the but to reply to a bunch. It doesnt automatically quote the previous mails, and the damn popup for not using that pw is annoying. I use zip as my backup account, but hush has been cool lately to me, hopefully they have worked most of the bugs out. Slopain |
