I have been working out 6 days a week. I am probably going to start working out with a partner who only works out 5 days a week. I am just curious how many days a week you bros workout.

Do you think I would get better size gains if I went down to working out only 5 days a week since I would have more recovery time. By the way, I just started my cycle this week.

Thanks,

I use to work out 6 days and then I was cought by the juice bug, you would get better results if you only do one bp a day 45min, and abs1 day calves the next. also my buddie overtrains and he lost most of his gains so if your ? is are you overtraining

I think that 6 days a week is overtraining for most people.

Try 4-5 days a week for a couple months and see if it makes a difference.

I have a strange way of training. Low week is lifting 3 times a week: day1; chest,arms day2; back,shoulders day3;legs
Does that sound shitty? I like working the whole arm in the same day(Arnold said it works). I through in abs when i feel like it.

bigrand,

If it works well for you then stick to it.

Once it starts losing its edge, change it.

I do something just about every day, whether it's lifting, something physical or aerobic. I take a day off when my body tells me to.

On my non-lifting days, I swim, climb, mountain bike, hike, row, etc. I guess I'm just to hyperactive to stay still longer than a few hours. As it is, I get jumpy at my desk job.

No training days in specific. 3 days on, 1 day off so I work each part every 4 days.

Chest/tris
Back/bis
Legs/shoulders

I don't believe in overtraining. I work out 7 days a week (at 19 years old) now that i am on juice. I find the more i hit my muscles during the week the better my results. My eating and sleeping habits are a 10 out of 10 right now.....not a lot of social life. But it will count. My advice to you is that if YOUR body can handle 6-7 days a week and u don't hit the SAME BODY PARTS WITHIN 48 HOURS then go ahead....if u are on the juice

i workout 5 days a week. but you have to change the routine every so often. dont keep doing the dsame excercises everytime you go to the gym, add different excercises. keep your body guessing. it will adapt better.

Four days works best for me
Monday/Thursday(upper body)
Tuesday/Friday(lower body)
This is a college football workout. Its bacsically concentrates on bench, squat, power clean, with auxillary lifts.
I've found this to help me add size, strength and power. It doesnt do much for cutting, but i do recommend it if you are looking for a change.

5 days a week, mon.-fri. take the weekend off to sleep.

Chest
Back/Hams
Shoulders/Traps
Quads/Forearms/Calves
Arms

However, if I am prioritzing a particular bodypart lets say for arguments sake chest, then my workload would look like this.

Chest:heavy low rep/ Triceps
Back/Hams/Biceps
Shoulders/Traps
Quads/Forearms/Calves
Chest:lower weight high rep scheme, never going over 15 reps.

Peace,

2 ON 1 OFF---2 ON 2 OFF.
SO THAT WOULD BE 4 TIMES PER WEEK.
IF YOU TRAIN WITH ENOUGH INTENSITY 4-5 DAYS SHOULD BE ALL YOU CAN HANDLE.

Usually five days a week:

mon: chest, tri's(light) and cults
tue: back, bi's(light) and abs
wens: off
thur: legs (incl. cults)
fri: usually antagonistic supersets with bi's and tri's (heavy).
zat: off
sun: off
This seems to work for me. Btw I almost don't train my shoulders, because they get to big very quickly so that they ruin my symmetry. I've never heard of anyone else who has such a problem.

you guys ever hear of overtraining? ANd the CORTISOL levels that go sky high with it.

That's muscle eating stuff.

If I workout 5,6 times a week no muscle gain/ but I loose weight.

IF 2,3 times a week gain muscle and still keep weight down.

But then I may be just an old fart ;-)

i train according to the training principles of the i-a-r-t.this means no more than 3 days a week, and no more than 3 total sets per muscle.doing more would constitute overtraining.check out the site www.i-a-r-t.com.
