I'm thinking of using creatine in the week leading up to the contest,i'm just wondering how this will effect the carb loading/depletion process,or if it will simply draw more water into the muscle, and not really effect glycogen stores.Any thoughts appreciated. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]()

I would'nt use it pre-contest. You want to shed excess water not gain more. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Drop it a few weeks out, then load (depending on your weight and how it affects you) the last few days WHEN YOU CARB UP! I'd also take some ALA and Vanadyl, too, that is if you're not shootin' some slin...but watch it with the diuretics 'cause you'll dehydrate fast...add 1 gram or 2 of potassium, too...when's your show?? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks for the reply bro's, contest is on two weeks from saturday. It's a natural show, and i don't juice,so i have to do things the old fasioned way.On the day i'll weight around 178, at 5'8.I don't know what my body fat is at the moment but i'm just beginging to see striations in my quads.I will be reducing my water intake on the fri and saturday, so was wondering if creatine would give me an edge by drawing some subcontainous water into the muscle, making me a little harder and fuller. What i dont want is to retain water and appear smooth.Any one else ever try this? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Creatine does tend to make muscles look a little fuller. BUT i've never used it at 3-4% bodyfat so I CANNOT recomend it for the contest. If I were you I would NOT use it, but experiment after the contest: stay in shape for a week or two and use creatine. ![]() ![]() ![]()

BigGerry, scratch the idea of using creatine! You will smooth over and it will hide all your work. Have you checked www.roid.com They have a pretty good NATURAL way of eliminating excess fluid. I used a similar method when I didn't use gear. Email me and I'd be glad to help ya. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

BULL SHIT. Creatine sucks the water into the muscle. Lay off of the creatine throughout your contest prep. and then on the last week load up on it. This will force any remaining water into the muscle to give you a dry full look...My room mate/training partner took my advice on this and won the overall at his contest two weeks ago. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I agree with ajc. Load it up right before and watch some of your subcutaneous water get sucked into the muscle. This worked great for me this year especially. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Its good to get some feedback from you bro's.Seems to be a difference of opinions on this one.I haven't been on creatine for a few months, i might try it out on monday before my workout to gauge the results, before deciding.Any other opinions welcomed. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]()

I don't think I'd use it, makes me bloat a bit. Although if you mega load it will make your piss out your ass, at least that what it does to me and will drain your strength. I'd just say no. .. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
