I've had some lower back pain, and this Orthopeadic Doc. gave me a shot of cortisone right where the pain is...Does cortisone stay localized? I know it's catabolic so I would not want it traveling to every muscle group. Also the shit was milky white, looked like he was giving me a shot of Winny. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Hoss (edited October 18, 2000).]

i don't know myself, but you can't workout with pain all the time. lower back pain is usually caused by a misalignment of the pelvis. you need to check your walking habits and get onto a good stretching program that will reverse the condition. all of this stuff is just a temporary treatment of the symptoms, not the cause.

Cortisone is powerful stuff. While it does reduce inflammation and associated pain it will, over time, destroy the joint cartillage and supporting structures. It should stay mostly localized. Use aspirin or iboprofen for the inflammation and pain. Cortisone is powerfully addictive. Request a PT eval for a TENS unit. You'll thank me if you do. Peace! ------------------
