I recently read an article by a Doctor on growth hormone and he said, "Once the growth plates are closed there will be no further growth. For women this usually happens about 1-2 years after the start of menarche(periods starting). At 22, it is probably too late to have any effects with any medical treatment." I was considering doing a six week cycle for phase 2 of my training for precontest then phase 3 be drug free except for the undetectables. PLEASE HELP!!!!! The site is below: ------------------

You're going to want to do a search on this site on GH. You have more questions than you realize.

Basicly this guy is saying after age 21 it is a waste of money to take GH "Somatropina" because it will have little or no effect and will actually do alot more damage with no results!!! Is this true?

I have mixed feelings on GH. Used in moderation long-term to promote quality of life, it has some application. As an anabolic agent to increase mass and strength, it is overrated. For the doctor to say GH will have no affect on someone whose growth plates have closed is innaccurate. GH speeds healing, speeds protein synthesis, and makes the body more resistant to stress. Should one produce excessive GH before the bony growth plates close, giantism results (i.e. Andre the Giant). Should one produce excessive GH after puberty, acromegaly results. Acromegaly is typified by large ears and nose (and some other stuff, but I don't have my book handy) as the cartillage will keep growing although the bones cannot. Acromegaly is not really a good thing though. If you are an elite bodybuilder who has plateued, then GH may provide the edge you are looking for. I believe that more often it just causes the distended-belly look. If you are moving on in years and want to take advantage of the youthful benefits of mild GH therapy, then by all means go for it. If you are an amateur or recreational bodybuilder looking to pack on mass quicker, then I would recommend passing GH by. Just my opinion. Peace! ------------------

Bro's I have a buddy in the gym that has taken it. Not sure the exact dosages but it definitly looks like he took too much. He's in his mid twenties and his forehead is so far out that it is very noticeable. He's got a pretty big noggin too. I never had the guts to ask him though if he ever noticed that his forehead looks kinda wierd. |
