Anybody else's ab muscles just go into uncontrollable movements after doing your excercises? It's weird, like someone is sticking me in the abs with their finger. :-)

The only way i can stop them is to stretch out flat and just try to relax.

NO other muscle group does this to me.

I do rope crunches, the hanging leg lifts,
and then improvise on that and turn side ways to get the side muscles.

Comments??

I'm having the same damn problem. I think it's gear related. I am taking plenty of Potassium and Magnesium with extra calcium and it doesnt' help that much. My abs cramp so bad after about 2 sets. The only time it has ever happened to me in 16 years of training is the couple times I have done gear. That's why for me I think it's gear related, or at 29 I am an old man.

AMP-

I'm 38 so maybe it is age related. Maybe you are gettin old. ;-)

Seriously though I've been quite dedicated to doing abs for about 9 mo's now and the twitching just started last month.

Don't think I over-train cause I only do them 2 times a week.

HOw bout it any comments from the PRO's DOC's on this board??

that is really odd and it must suck for your abs to spasm!

Give this a try before beginning any ab workout:

Lay on your stomach stretched out. Basically leave your legs stretched out and your hips touching the ground while you push your upper body up as high as you can and achieve a nice stretch in your abdominal region.

CLEMDOG -

Thanks dude, you may have hit something!

You know I always stretch evertyhing pre and post work out. Just never my abs.

Duh! for some reason never crossed my mind.

We have one of those big balls at the gym
So laying backwards across that should acheive a good ab stretch.

yeah, you should definately stretch your abs before you work out. You can also lie face down, and prop yourself up on your elbows to get a good stretch.

Make sure you're not dehydrated also. This happens to me sometimes while cutting and I just drink more water.
