.....love to see a young guy doing squats properly. I was doing legs today (Argh!) and I noticed some guy in his 50's, who was pretty big and healthy looking (GH?), glancing over at the squat rack I was at a few times. I could tell he wanted to say something to me. Finally, when I was just about done, he came over and complimented me on my good form. He said most guys these days look like their bending over for something (heheh) when they do a squat. I find squats are pretty natural to me. Blessed I guess. Anyway, this has happened to me about half a dozen times at my gym, where older guys will comment on my squat...especially powerlifters. It's nice to hear, you know. I have great respect for our older brothers. Alot can be learned from them. Thank you to all you old-school guys helping us younger guys out. That's how it should be. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Go Squats, did them today too. I have to agree with you by the way. The other day this dude w/ chicken legs asked to work in with me about half way through my set. I told him to just use the rack next to me I didn't want to keep taking the weights off and putting them on. He sort of snickered, and went next to me. I was going pretty heavy, 405 for 3 sets of 8 deep, but not ass touchers. This guy loads on 2 plats and barely broke his knees, then he puts on three plates and basically bent over about 6 inches and straightened up. Now I know why chiropracters and Orthopedic surgeons are so busy. Keep up the legs. Sorry for the rant. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's one thing to see a guy training incorrectly, but when you see a guy with poor form on squats it makes old school guys cringe thinking about the lower back and knee damage that will occur. You don't tend to get injuries as much when you are younger so its good to see young guys doing the movement correctly, regardless. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yeah, Kryptonite. Squats really get those endorphins going! They also take EVERYTHING out of me. It's not unusual for me to get sick a day or two after a good leg workout. Vit C/Echinecea/Goldenseal works well, though. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
