Tom Platz claims doing cardio in the morning on an empty stomach does more harm than good. And that 3 (20min.) session a week, after a meal is sufficient to burn fat. (Combined with an intense weight traing routine, of course) This goes against everything I've been hearing and reading for the past 5 years... It's also an area that fascinates me most because fat burning is still somewhat a mystery. If someone wants to lower bf%, which is the best approach???? All comments and explanations are welcomed and encouraged. ![]() ![]() ![]()

i used to think that it was bad to do cardio in the morning, before eating. i now know that it doesn't really make a difference when you do it, just be sure to do it when you are most comfortable doing it....i did cardio 1st thing in the morning before my last show....and it worked, so why am i gonna change it? ![]() ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

well scientifly doing cardio first thing in the morning makes perfect sense but if ya look at it lodgicly for the first 20mins you only burn carbs and seeing first thing in the morning you got no carbs in you your body will break down muscle for animos you are probebly better off haveing breakfast and then doing 40mins cardio ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

here's what i know.. doing cardio in the morning is not necessarily bad.. but it's better to do it 15-20 minutes after you eat because the body metabolism speeds up during digestion... so if you are digesting food then by doing light to moderate cardio your body will burn even more fat than it would normally.. try it.. you'll know it's working by the amount of time it'll take you to start sweating... your body temperature will slightly increase.. at least.. that's what i've learned in exercise physiology class ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

In the morning on an empty stomach has always been the most successful way for me to do it. In the a.m. before you eat your body has it's lowest blood sugar levels. In response a low intensity cardio workout almost immediately results in your body switching into fat metabolism for energy. If you do high intensity you are in danger of muscle wasting but low intensity is very effective. Take ECA 45 minutes before cardio and you will secure the fat burning effect. ECA is a very powerful anticatabolic in the morning. Case study - Like I always say, it all works but you have to find what works the BEST for YOU. For me the a.m. cardio with ECA melts fat off in weeks. I have lost 10 inches off my waistline in 8 weeks several times over and I am doing it again as we speak. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Why don't you experiment a little, my point being that everyone responds differently. Too much cardio no matter what time makes me look too flat. Maybe early morning cardio is best for getting ripped, but maybe you should adjust your diet more than concentrating on your time of cardio. ![]() ![]() ![]()

What i meant with "stop stuffing yourself" is: i don't see the point of eating and then immediatly do cardio. You can skip the meal, do the cardio, then you will gain out of it. But first eating, then cardio. So this is a zero action. ------------------ Don't look back, life is too short ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I heard that doing cardio in the morning is better because it raises your metabolism and keeps it elevated more than usual for the rest of the day. I learned that from Kiana's Flex Appeal or Bodyshaping, or one of those quality shows on espn2. But, I also learned from those shows you can get a total body workout in 10 minutes using machines and you too can look as good as them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
