Mid-40's guy going on first bulking cycle, currently weighs 165 lbs, 6', looking for suggestions on diet. In particular, amt of protein, fats and carbs. | ||

Eat 1.5 lbs of protien per lb of bodyweight.So you would need around 240 grms..When I am bulking I eat around 500 or 600 grm of carbs a day..I never measure the grms of fat I take in..I know it not very high and I have a fast metabolism anyway..If your 6' 160 then I would suggest simply eating your ass off no matter what it is..You obviously have a high metabolism..Try to at about 6000 cals a day..Bam Bam | ||

What stack are you on? To bulk I would say 4000-6000 calories and 1.5 to 2 grams of protien per pound of body weight. You want to eat like a madman while bulking and if using deca, you need protien in high doses especially. Be more specific and we can better help you. ghans | ||

You should know your body by now to know what it takes to gain weight. Don't listen to these kids with their turbo-charged metabolisms who think that they need to eat their bodyweight in protein every day. The fact is, a max of 1g protein/lb of bodyweight is sufficient to promote nitrogen retention (muscle growth) as long as you have calories over your basal metabolic rate. A good place to start is 400-500 calories/day over your BMR. A realistic goal during bulking would be to gain 2-3 lbs per week (on AS). Any more than that is likely to be fat. If you do not gain at that rate, then you know to increase your calories. | ||

I have no idea what that cycle is??? Are you doing Eq and Deca?? They both compete for the same receptor. Just do one of them. Why so many weeks?? A cycle that long usually just produces excessive side effects without any more gains. 8 maybe 10 max. Otherwise your receptors will be SO saturated that it will be just a waste. And another thing, why such high doses??? I am on my 2nd cycle right now Omna, Deca, D-bol. I am only doing 750 of Omna. why a gram of sust??? Based on your posted stats, it seems like this is a first cycle. I realize that you should blast those virgin receptors, but why kill em!!?? If this is a first, then you have no idea on how gear will react to your body. I think maybe you should do a little more research and first try to gain more weight naturally before making the jump to the dark side!! I used to be 155 at almost 6ft. I was able to go all the way up to 208(but high BF) on natural. Just eat and train. |
