Just wondering why you deleted the thread started by twisted steel on Novaldex. I mean, it was a well thought out discussion. So I'm just wondering why?

godspeed

Ya' know, I don't believe some of the "missing threads" are intentionally deleted in many cases. I'm starting to think something strange occurs periodically via the file management process (whether it's technical, procedural, etc. I don't know and don't care).

Slopain and I had an example very similar to this a week or two ago. We were trying to retrieve a thread that was active a day or two prior and neither of us were able to track it down (I'm confident with my search skills). I have also encountered this on other threads in the past. After an unspecified period of time elapses, I can "all-of-a-sudden" find the MIA file via an archive search. I've done this a couple of times. Of course, I have encountered situations where the file is "never to be seen again" also. In the latter case, I think this is when a Mod or Admin actually deletes the thread (probably with just cause). Just another ramblin' .02 cents worth.

Later,

I think at about 5 days, threads vanish. I have no idea where they go, most of them end up in the archives...the rest...who knows. There might even be a limit as to how many replies can jump to the archives. I doubt that any other mod would have deleted that thread, I didn't.

I seriously doubt ANY mod deleted that particular thread,as it was one of the best ones in recent memory.I hate when these glitches snag up the good ones though....

are we talking about "The Novaldex question"

That was a hell of a thread going there. Hate to see it lost. I was wanting to print out some of that INFO. If anyone saved any of that to a text file by chance please email it to me :-)

Hey Twisted Steel maybe you can start that one up again.

There was another guy on there to that had some good comments.

But honestly I have had the same problem with being able to find threads lately too.
