I've often wondered if the knowledge of being on a cycle makes you convinced that you should be more confident (thus you fall into this mold), or if there is actually some type of physiological mechanism at work, which would lead to the idea that some ASs are more beneficial at improving your mood than others. Furthermore, in your opinion, if you believe in the second scenario, how would ASs compare to such mood altering pharmaceuticals such as Paxil? Could a depressed individual benefit emotionally from a mild cycle?

Interesting, but I don't think you can compare the two. The elevated test levels when on gives an overall feeling of well being, but I don't think it would cure a deficiency in serotonin levels which Paxil compensates for. | ||

I agree with rocky. High testosterone levels equals higher self-confidence and reports of well being, whether the test is natural or not. Since psychoactive drugs have such a different mechanism of effect though, I doubt AS would help. Unless the increased anabolism extended as far as to increase neurotransmitter production...
