I'm curious as to how many companies are monitoring your surfing..that is..i know some companies look for key words you type in your browser, has anyone recieved any warnings or messages from network admin as a direct result of being on this site? ------------------     | ||

You can help hide wear you've been by going to your control panel and then into internet options and deleting your history and files. Do this after each time you leave your computer. Because the place I work has a very large network server I never read this board at work..... Anybody else have tips for hiding your internet history? | ||

I'm hooked up since I'm the LAN Admin here at my work. I decide what we track and I really don't care what other people look at as well. If there's signs of abuse I'll shoot them an email but this hasn't been a problem in a long time. LAter, Green Oh and for you that are naive your work can tell how long you're on, how man sites or pages you've seen. Be careful while at work!! | ||

DIVER, I KNOW THEY MONITOR MY EMAILS BUT IM NOT SURE ABOUT MY WEB SURFING. IVE BEEN HERE FOR ABOUT THREE MONTHS AND HAVENT HAD ANY COMPLAINTS. THE ONLY LIMITATIONS I HAVE IS DUE TO THE FIREWALL WHICH RESTRICTS MY PICTURES...ZEUS | ||

My work and company requires me to web surf and read sites. Porno, Juice, etc... Unfortunately, after two weeks of this, it is boring. | ||

I know my company has the ability to see exactly what is on my screen at any given time (hi boss!) j/k and it can be recorded as well. My company isn't huge at all either, and it doesn't cost much to install. Luckily Im above all that snooping through my things at this point. But if they wanted to they easily can. Slopain | ||

Going to pages found through a search will often work. They only show up as a yahoo search or whatever not what they actually are. Work is the main place I go to the board, no one says anything. | ||

Alright here you go. Network Admin here that does the monitoring of peoples contents. Depending on how your company is set up for internet traffic, is dependant on what they can or can't see. If one they are using a cheap proxy server, then one it caches everywhere you have been, makes a nice little report, and thats it. If your using a modem from local machine. Just delete your temp internet files. No way to actully tell where you have been on that one besides them. Now if they are connected directly to a main backbone T3 or OC, then they are using a router to get you outside the building and onto the internet. For this depending on the router model, some does capture pages and information from where you have been and logs it to your IP address of your local machine. Also some bigger companies that need internet for business, will have a webcache server. Which will cache every page that you go to for future use. This does not log which computer went to the site, well the cheapers ones don't, but it does store the content. Enjoy. | ||

I work for an isp/asp, I'm a network engineer. I can jump on any of our routers and just check the nat trans and see live what page your on. But where I work for right now they really don't car what we do. When we're not busy we spen 7 hours a day playing quake3. I love being in the IT world. Hehe, Geared! I'm in the same boat. My boss is such a doorknob he can't do much of anything on the computer. Unfortunately someone taught the pig how to search for porn. I know, you guys think that's cool, but a lot of the sites he hits are teen porn sites. He's 47. My daughters are 16 and 15. Sick bastard. | ||

Nope, not yet either, but if they did it would more likely be for the porno emails than my web surfing. And if they busted me I'd jsut say "so sack me" cos I know they'd be fucked without me! OR maybe not... ( :=< IronMike |
