I built muscle real easy the first two years I worked out but never got much strengh. I always see dudes a lot less musclular then me lift more. When I tell people how much I can bench/shoulderpress/squat they're always impressed (by how little I can get). I think I might of focused too much on the body-building aspect, but still I should get stronger though. So let me ear about your genetics-- -How strong and what weight were you when you started training? Me: me Now:

I have the genetics of fucking Buddy Hackett. Most people think I am full of shit until they see old pictures of me a few years ago (when I was a fat 160) and then when I was skinny as shit at 140lbs. I'm 5'8" and... 2years ago: Now: After 1 cycle (researched AS a long time before starting because it scared me to death) ------------------ Visit my website (free of all Musclehedz pictures) at http://profiles.elitefitness.com

I have come to the point where I say fuck strength. If bodybuilding is your thing then build a body. If power is your thing then by all means look like a lard ass. On the other side of this lard ass thing though I have seen tiny guys push some impressive numbers. They however didn't have sculpted physiques. From my experience and education I hace come to relize weight lifting is not just weight lifting as seen by the un-knowing general public of lazy fucks. You can train to better you performance (Strength, speed) or you can sculpt a masterfull piece of human artwork (bodybuild). I found the muscles will grow even if the strength does not. Form over function in this craft. Perhaps strength will come as well, and some should be expected, but unless I am preparing to step into some atheletic forum the power is just not all that relevant. It is about sculpture and definition, not explosive force. You don't need explosive force when you are striking a pose for some skank. Now I believe power moves are great bodybuilding moves and they most certainly should not be neglected. It is just not of the most importance to lift the heaviest possible weigh for two reps. It again is about the form. To fully activate and individualy stress each and every possible muscle fiber. This is what creates anatomy chart definition. So I say fuck power. I'm not in the gym to kick your ass. I'm here for art class. That is just my opinion though.

Bro, I've been training for two years hard and I'm also 6'1 205 w/ a 265 bench and 335 squat. A year ago I was only 6'1 185. I don't really worry about it. I see tons of people at the gym throwing around more weight than me. Alot of it has to do w/ the fact that they don't know how to lift and spaz out rather than take the time to learn how to use the proper technique so you actually work the muscles you intend to. My goal is to be up to 225 by next summer after a some more hard training. I take consolation in the fact I know I'm seeing more gains than they are because I'm training w/ better technique and intensity.

i have genetics against me as well...my ethnicity is Indian and i've got a pretty small frame - when i started working out seriously a couple of years ago, i was 5'9, 140lbs/16%BF...now i am 165lbs/10% bf, i can bench 250 as a max - i just finished a cycle (winstrol only)- people are pretty impressed with my strength, b/c i don't look like i can lift squat..(pretty shitty if you ask me)...i have resolved myself to the fact that i can lift a fair amount of weight for my size and will focus on keeping the body fat as low as possible and do bulking stacks a couple of times a year to gain incremental mass over time. on top of that, muscular atrophy occurs pretty quickly with me, so if i'm not in the gym all the time, i start to lose my gains. ss

AMEN to what BUCKHOUSE said. I am starting all over again with my regimen but technique and form are everything over #lbs!!! My boyfriend made fun of me when I lifted with him but I kept my mouth shut because yeah, he could push some weight and I stress SOME- but he had no form where I know I do. (I am always complimented on my form, that's how I know.)The strength will come- have patience-you're doing well!!

I started working out when I was 18 and weighed around 150 lbs at 5 ft 11 inches. My max on bench was 135 lbs and I could only squat about 200 lbs. Im now 21 and weigh around 178, probably 8-10% bf ( bf hasnt changed much)but my max on bench is 230 ( incline) I dont do flat barbell. And I could probably squat 405 once. Never tried the 405 but I workout with 315 so I think 405 would be easy. I did one cycle when I was 20 yrs old of Eq, test-200, and Winstrol-V.

I'm at the other end of the spectrum than you NatBoy. I hardly put on weight, but my strength skyrockets. I'm getting ready for my first powerlifting comp actually. I started working out religiously when I was 13 (yes 13), I'm 19 now. I weighed 165 then at 5'6" and about 25% BF, very fat. Now I'm 145, same height, about 7% BF. I'm not sure about my 1RM maxes when I started out. But now I'm benching a little over 300 and squat something like 425 (hopefully, right at 400 was my last max out a few monthes ago). I am really having a hard time putting on mass but HIT has really made me strong. No juice yet. I have been hanging around the boards for 5 monthes now and I'm getting really antsy. In fact I already have some Fina made up, some clomid and some winstrol coming in the mail. But I'm waiting to see how I do in the competition in Nov before I go for it...
