I've got a huge problem with insomnia, and
it only seems to be getting worse. The
problem is pure and simple stress, if any
of you know of any new prescription out
there, and yes I've tried Sonata, by all
means tell me. I'm even immune to valiums
and xanax. It's gotten to the point where
I'm having to take ephedrine just to get
back to normal, which of course, inhibits
sleep, and the cycle continues.

Primo,

Not to oversimplify, but if you have identified the cause as stress focus on eliminating the source (if possible) as opposed to an Rx.

I got enough chemicals swirling around my body...
When I can't sleep I take Valerian Root.
Homeopathic, easy on the system, smells like dog shit, works like a charm.
Seems to calm me down also.

1911,lol, it is definitely stress, but that
is a very hard factor to eliminate, in my
case it would probably involve a complete
career change. Don't get me wrong, I
love feeling under pressure, I love the
competition my line of work entails, but
I need for it to stop when I decided to
sleep...so I can get ready for the next
day. It really is a paradox. Therefore,
I temporarily, have to find something to
allow me to sleep (pharmaceuticals, herbs, etc).

GHB will give you the best sleep you have ever had, very conducive (sp? is that with an s?) to a working/training lifestyle as you can wake up refreshed, not the groggy feeling you get with other products.

Downside is I would only use it 3 times a week max, so you won't become dependent on it. Take care with the dosing, not something to play around with.

Primo,

I hear ya' re: "career" stress, been dealin' with it for many years (just can't walk away from a good income). I won't clutter the board with philosophical response(s), just remember "after they shut the lid on your casket very few will remember how you kicked-ass 20+ years ago on the job."

Enjoy the ride my man, life is good.

Diazepam (valium)...........if you are that stressed. Ask your doctor about it.
