Unfortunately I just got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This means I have to inject insulin. How will this effect my gym work? Any ideas?

I don't think it will affect your gym work in a negative manner. On the correct diet, you will be pleased with the results that insulin will give you. I was diagnosed with type 1 in Jan. Sure I was devastated at first but you have to roll with the punches.

Two months after I started insulin treatment I had gained 20 lbs. This was nice because my muscles appeared very full and I was getting stronger. Everybody in the gym was sure I was juicing and I was still "natural" at that point. The tricky part is keeping the fat off. Insulin will cause your fat cells to store more nutrients if you don't watch your diet very closely.

Bottom line: control your blood sugar. You should check it 4 times a day. As long as you keep it under control, you will be just fine.
