HERE IS MY QUESTION. IF YOU ARE TRYING TO LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS AND YOU FEEL A BURN IN YOUR MUSCLES THAT'S TELLING YOU CAN'T LIFT ANYMORE, WILL PAIN KILLERS GIVE YOU AN EXTRA LIFT? I MEAN LIKE NOVACAIN OR SOME OTHER PAIN KILLER? I HOPE YOU ALL UNDERSTAND MY QUESTION AND DO NO FLAME ME, I AM NOT LUVS TO JUICE.

im not a board guru but do have a lot of experience with drugs, and the answer is no, its like lifting drunk youll only hurt the mucle from the dulled sensations when your body is telling you to stop.

yes, nubain is highly addictive but pretty mild in strength. I have lots of past exsperience with pain killers and belive me they aren't worth it. -Gord

i am VERY prone to being addictive to pain killers.... while on my past "short" cycles i have always used Vicodine everyday to feel good "stay in the good mood, keep the head akes away" and it SEEMED like it would release the water out of my body that i retained... my advise, is to try and to stay away from it while on cycle...... but people may have different opinions... -MIKE-

Mach2: I'm not a guru either, but you're quite right about this issue. Look, brothers, this is a silly idea. Let's put it to bed right now, okay? Juiceseeker, the last thing you want to do when you're training seriously is turn off the pain signal. The one real danger we all face is letting our work on our muscles outstrip the ability of our tendons and ligaments to keep up. These are the tissues you'll injure royally if you turn off the pain signal, not just the muscle, and these connective tissues take a long, long time to repair. Personally, I kinda like a good burn, don't you? There's really nothing more satisfying in the gym, IMO. Why the fuck would you want to anesthetize yourself, to miss that glorious agony? I understand the impulse, JS, but your brainstorm is a bad idea, my man. Be well, and lift heavy, brothers. Bjaarki ------------------ BECOME SOMEONE'S HERO!

What about something a bit lighter though, like a couple asprin or advil beforehand? It would allow you to still feel pain but just push that much harder, but not to the point where you hurt yourself.

I just don't see the point, Frackal. I don't know, maybe you guys have discovered some secret Bulgarian weightlifting method that induces pain such as I've never experienced before? Or are you guys pussies? WTF is so damned bad about a good burn that you get into this crazy "Let's do painkillers too" BS. Good lord, do you think everything has to come out of a bottle, for Chrissakes? I usually like your posts, Frackal, but I just don't see what you and Juiceseeker here are driving at. Sorry for the rant, man. Bjaarki

Well I am with Bjaarki on the first post he made but that second Im not too sure of. Tendonitis is pretty common for one. I had a bad case of it my first cycle, I used advils to get me through the couple weeks while it was diminshing (I now know the lifts I must stay away from). I am almost positive the burn isn't the pain theya re suffering from, 99% of all the lifters I know love the burn and the pumps that accompnay them soon after. Its more of the joint, ligament, tendons. If you have never had a serious tendonitis problem Id say you have no idea what people who get them go through, it is excruciating all day, and lifting through it hurst badly. Its not a good pain. I have used nubain as well as some other pain meds, not abused but used them. I think when you start ignoring your body trying to tell you something (pain is a warning sign that something is seriously wrong) you are headed for serious trouble and/or injury. There is a fine line between good pain and bad pain. But I think it is easily distinguishable. Slopain ps sorry for the typos. |
