Anyone have any suggestion on how to get these things open. They are definately the hardest amps that I have ever had to open (and i have opened hundreds in my time). I tried a knife and razor and finally resorted to using a hammer, which resulted in getting glass in the amp. Any advice would be apreciated    | ||

Yes, I think the best way is to file around it. Then get a firm grip on the amp with one hand and break the neck off with the thumb and forefinger of the other hand. You can use a pen cap on the neck of the amp to make sure you don't get glass in your hands. But when they're filed well it should be easy. ------------------ | ||

Dude, these things are a bitch. I posted a week ago with a novel & quick way to get in 'em---I think alot of people thought I was joking, but I wasnt. Get a Dremmel Moto Tool (its one of them little hand-held multi-tool drill things) or a cheap knock-off for $35. Use the attachment that looks like a lttle dildo. On the lowest speed setting file all around the neck for a few seconds & open sesame---it takes forever to file these by hand. | ||

I've always thought that people were nuts when they asked how to open an amp, because it is so easy. For the first time, last week, I got some amps that did not break open with the ease that I was used to. I could not do it for anything in the world. I felt friggin' weak. I went and got my toolbox, pulled out a hand-sized hack saw, threw a small blade on, and sawed the neck. The hack blade was very small, and it did a wonderful job. The neck came off very easy using my thumb, like with the normal amps, after I did the surgery on the amp. Try it, it works easily. | ||

WHAT THE HELL? $35 for an amp opener? Hold the bullshit...take a towel and hold the amp in one hand in the towel. Put a pen cap over the top of the amp, cover the amp from shattering glass on your hand and pop the fucker off!! | ||

www.neoforma.com Do a search for ampule opener. They cost like 6 bucks!!! I used them last night on some Omnas and they are the shit!!! My friend always busted the tops off jagged, even with the score mark. I broke my three off clean!!! It scores them all the way around and even expels the tip!!! | ||

You dudes cant imagine what these particular amps are like---they are nothing like omna (I can snap them open without filing). If you dont do these cleanly/properly, the glass can crush/shatter & get glass particles in the stuff---& there aint no way I'm shoot'n glass dust in my ass. ------------------ | ||

take a file, use the flat edge to file the tip of the amp, do this until there is a hole, now stick the tip of the file in the hole and pry the glass outward. |
